On May 16, we hosted the first of three environmental events linked to the Valdezorita Solar Farm at Yebra Town Hall in Guadalajara (Castilla-La Mancha), Spain.
👉 The focus of the session? The protection of steppe birds and the coexistence of biodiversity and renewable energy.
The event brought together local residents, including many farmers, who had the opportunity to learn from a specialist about best practices for conserving steppe bird species.
Following the session, attendees visited the solar farm, which was developed and built by ABO Energy as its first turnkey solar project in Spain. We remain involved in the project through its operation and maintenance (O&M) as well as its environmental management.
There, they could explore the various biodiversity and environmental integration measures implemented at the site:
🏜️ The compatibility of dryland herbaceous farming with steppe bird conservation
🌿 Features such as vegetation screening, wildlife-friendly perimeter fencing, and sheep grazing within the park.
The visit also offered insight into the technical components of the facility, including photovoltaic modules, inverters, transformers, the electrical substation, and the waste storage area.
A big thank to all visitors and to all parties involved in the organisation!
