🚀 What a week already! Our AAU Space Robotics Team had the honour of participating in the Space Conference 2025.
🌍 This conference allowed us to connect with inspiring leaders and researchers across Europe on themes of space sustainability, autonomy, and competitiveness. And it was a way to showcase our robotics work, exchange ideas with peers and industry, and gain new perspectives to fuel our next phase of innovation. We were reminded that student teams like us and Satlab are not just “nice to have” but that we are an important part of the future infrastructure of space-tech, satellites, robotics and more.
Plus, we got to meet everyone’s favourite astronaut Andreas Mogensen.
🤖 Another highlight from the conference was attending the panel sessions with our favourite Associate Professor Simon Bøgh where he discussed the crucial role of autonomous robotics and AI in future space missions, especially on the Moon and Mars. As Simon explained, these distant environments demand systems that can operate independently, make real-time decisions, and adapt to unpredictable conditions where communication with Earth is delayed or limited. AI-driven robots will be essential for building habitats, maintaining infrastructure, and conducting scientific exploration in places where humans can’t always be present.
💪 As a team, we are motivated and equipped to bring what we learned into our upcoming projects, collaborating across disciplines, pushing the boundaries of robotics in space, and helping Aalborg University / Denmark in becoming the leading experts within this field.
🙌 A huge thank you to all the amazing people we met at the conference for their generosity, insights and energy. To everyone we met, and everyone watching: if you’d like to connect on future student space robotics projects, collaborations or just a chat about space robotics, we’d love to hear from you!
