Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign dedicated to fostering public enthusiasm and support for brain science. At 2N Pharma, we are committed to advancing research that brings real impact to patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ( ) remains a major challenge in neuroscience, with limited therapeutic options available. At 2N Pharma, we are pioneering a approach to ALS treatment, focusing on mitochondrial dysfunction and lipid metabolism. By addressing these critical pathways, we aim to develop innovative treatments that can transform the lives of those affected by ALS and other brain diseases like ’s.

Hjælp Izabella med at blive klogere på ALS!

Overlæge Izabella Obal fra Neurologisk Afdeling søger lige nu raske forsøgsdeltagere til et forskningsprojekt, der forhåbentlig kan bane vej for ny viden om den aggressive og alvorlige sygdom ALS, der angriber de nerveceller i hjernen og rygmarven, som styrer musklernes bevægelser.

Der findes desværre i dag ikke nogen kur eller effektiv livsforlængende behandling for sygdommen, men med studiet håber forskerne at kunne identificere biologiske markører, som kan give ny viden om, hvordan sygdommen opstår og udvikler sig.

What an inspiring ALS conference hosted by this weekend 🙌
A heartfelt thank you to the organizers, presenters, ALS patients, and their families for sharing such invaluable knowledge and experiences about .
After a few exciting days, the 2N Pharma team is more motivated than ever to continue our work on developing biomarkers for earlier ALS diagnosis and advancing , with the hope of improving the quality of life for ALS patients.

We look forward to contributing even more to this critical cause 💙

I gårsdagens Berlingske blev der bragt en spændende artikel om John Dirk Vestergaard Nieland, lektor på Aalborg Universitet og medejer af biotekselskabet 2N Pharma. I 26 år har han forsket i hjernesygdomme som amyotrofisk lateral sklerose (ALS), sklerose, Parkinsons og demenssygdomme. Hans nyeste studier, udført på mus i samarbejde med kolleger fra Aalborg Universitet, har fokuseret på disse hjernesygdomme 🧠

John påpeger, at kroppens forbrænding af fedt og sukker er afgørende for hjernesygdomme, hvilket viser, at disse sygdomme ikke kun påvirker hjernen, men hele kroppen. 2N Pharma har på baggrund af Johns forskning videreudviklet på dette koncept – den neurometaboliske tilgang, og har udviklet en eksperimentel medicin, , med det formål at kunne genoprette kroppens forbrænding ved disse sygdomme 💊

2N Pharma er netop nu i gang med at teste og videreudvikle Mitometin, og hvis de lovende data fra dyrestudier kan overføres til mennesker, kan dette være et gennembrud til en ny behandling for blandt andet ALS 🩵

This week marked a significant milestone for 2N Pharma as we had "first-volunteer-in" in our first human study 🩵We are working to discover new biomarkers for better and earlier diagnosis of ALS. First and foremost, we would like to thank the volunteers: ALS patients and their families for participating in the study. Secondly, we would like to thank the United States Department of Defense for funding a Danish biotech company's quest to make a real difference for those living with ALS.

Congratulations to 2N Pharma co-founder and CSO, Dr. John Dirk Vestergaard Nieland, for yet another excellent article. This time in BestPractice Nordic DK where Dr. Nieland summarises 2N Pharma´s approach to targeting ALS and Parkinson´s Disease.

This article introduces a novel neurometabolic framework, advocating a systemic approach to understanding and treating neurodegenerative diseases by focusing on metabolic dysfunctions at their core.

Last week, our CSO John Dirk Vestergaard Nieland, held his TEDxAalborg talk with great success 🧠🤩 Hearing about his perspective on the emergence of brain diseases and how he has been researching this for more than 20 years was intriguing and motivating.

In honor of the significant occasion, 2N hosted a reception at the Comwell Hvide Hus, inviting business partners from throughout the country to join us in celebrating this day 🥂
