Eco Softline - recyclable gasket solution.

One of the easiest ways to reduce energy costs is to use high-quality window and door gaskets. After all, the main cause of faulty window seals is daily wear and tear and years of constantly changing temperatures. The resulting wear and tear is often the cause of leaky windows and doors.

To counteract this, Primo has developed Eco Softline gaskets. Due to their excellent properties, modern thermoplastic elastomers have replaced vulcanised rubber and are used where the highest quality is required.

Primo also uses recycled material in its profile systems. Scrap and worn-out plastic profiles become a valuable raw material and can be used to make new profiles without any loss of quality.

Super-strong composite material for more energy-efficient windows and doors.

Primo has developed a super-strong composite material based on reinforced ABS-plastic. The material is created by demand from the windows and door industry, where alternatives to wood and steel are sought after.

These ABS profiles are unique and reusable.
All scrap and cut-offs from the reinforced ABS production are shredded into small parts and reused in the production. This new environmental dimension is yet another good argument for the use of smarter plastic materials.

Primo's water treatment for greenhouse production lines uses UV technology rather than chemicals to kill bacteria. In addition, our water cooling system uses naturally cold outdoor temperatures to efficiently cool water, resulting in significant energy savings.

Through the use of drive systems in our pump motors, we have achieved optimal energy consumption by using only what's needed - no more, no less. Ultimately, this commitment to resource conservation and efficiency helps to reduce the carbon footprint of our profiles and the end product.

Primo door concept lets trailer and truck manufacturers make their own seals

Now manufacturers can work faster and save money.
Primo’s door concept for trailer and truck manufacturers consists of a standard range of door seals together with a custom welding unit. It means manufacturers can now adapt door seals themselves to their customers' specifications.

Primo offers full training and instruction in using the welding equipment. This guarantees the same quality you'd expect from our factory.

Extruded plastic profiles can improve the properties of windows and doors in several ways. Here are some of the main benefits:

Improved durability: Plastic profiles are typically made from materials like PVC, which are resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV radiation. This means that windows and doors made with plastic profiles are less likely to deteriorate or warp over time, resulting in longer-lasting and more reliable products.

Improved energy efficiency: Plastic profiles can be designed with multi-chambered configurations that create insulating air pockets, improving the energy efficiency of windows and doors. This can help to reduce heating and cooling costs and make buildings more environmentally friendly.

Increased security: Plastic profiles can be reinforced with metal inserts to provide extra strength and security, making it more difficult for intruders to break into a building through windows or doors.

Improved sound insulation: The multi-chambered design of plastic profiles can also help to reduce noise transmission, making windows and doors with plastic profiles an effective sound insulation solution.

Greater design flexibility: Plastic profiles can be manufactured in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colours, allowing for greater design flexibility and customisation. This means that windows and doors with plastic profiles can be tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of individual customers.

Overall, extruded plastic profiles can help to improve the performance and aesthetics of windows and doors, making them a popular choice in the construction industry.

Superior insulation in lighting products

There are many advantages to using extruded polymer profiles for lighting, such as superior insulation properties and the ability to create lightweight and efficient structural designs. Certain polymers like PMMA offer better optical properties than glass, while PC provides exceptional impact resistance and flammability values.

Jaakko Salo, Senior Business Developer at Primo, emphasizes the importance of continuously developing new raw materials and solutions. Primo aims to be involved in the customer's development process early on and provide extrusion consulting services to ensure that the profiles are optimized for production and meet all customer requirements.

Geo-synthetic fabrics make horticulture easier

Primo produces high quality monofilament yarns from high density polyethylene and polypropylene. Polyolefin monofilaments are used as components in the technical fabrics industry, in filtration systems, fencing, fishing nets and ropes, and in medical technology.

Monofilaments are also used for interior roofing in greenhouses. Geosynthetic fabrics help farmers protect their crops from insects and other pests, provide shade, protect plants from wind, hail and other weather damage, and reduce their use of pesticides without compromising crop quality and quantity.

Did you know that PVC materials are regulated by the EU to prevent health risks?

The EU chemicals regulation REACH ensures that the substances used in PVC are safe.
With the addition of approved additives, there is no health risk from using PVC products.
As EU countries have agreed to completely stop the import of products containing unwanted phthalates into the EU, the risk of toxicity is eliminated. Primo complies with the REACH programme and several other industry specific quality and safety programmes.

2. Why are polymer profiles ideal for lighting products?
The limited weight of plastics allows for lighter structure designs in modern lighting products. Some polymers such as acrylics (PMMA), have superior optical qualities that are better than glass, while polycarbonate (PC) has superior impact resistance and flammability values.
Among other benefits are:
- UV - resistance
- light diffusion
- opacity
- chemical resistance
- combining different materials into a single profile that can replace several components and fulfil multiple purposes
