The day has finally come ๐Ÿ’ซ. We moved in the laboratory for the first time at DTU Skylab to perform our in-vitro study. This is one big step towards the development of gene therapy for lactose intolerance. ๐Ÿ”ฌ

On this mission we are having on board two wonderful DTU students with lots of experience and dedication to acquire proof of concept data. ๐Ÿ“š

Lucรญa Mompรณ Gisbert and Elisa Terenzi in collaboration with our science team members (Penille Jensen, Ioanna Chini, Angeliki Panetsou, Mario Alzamora, Patrik Szoboszlai) making enormous efforts in starting up our HEK-293 cell culture. We are all super excited to progress in the lab and make the cell culture produce Lactase enzyme as the main objective. ๐Ÿš€

One pipette set closer to the 1st in-vitro studies. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿฅณ As we are getting ready to move into the GMO laboratory at DTU Skylab, materials, consumables, and equipment are starting to arrive.

It feels like Christmas receiving every single item, but this baby "Finnpipetteโ„ข F2 GLP-KIT" from Thermo Fisher Scientific is obviously the star of the show and can not wait taking it into use. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Most of our in-vitro associated items are coming from Thermo Fisher Scientific as a part of the Jump Start Biotech program with significant discounts. Thank you for supporting our mission. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Johannes got aligned to our project as a fund raiser along a special course we offer at DTU, ๐๐ข๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ-๐”๐ฉ ๐’๐จ๐Ÿ๐ญ ๐…๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ . Along the course he is having a pivotal role in learning and optimizing fund raising strategy, and handling fund applications for Milky Way. ๐Ÿš€

Our special course "๐Œ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ง ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐†๐ž๐ง๐ž ๐“๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฉ๐ฒ" was focused on the foundational knowledge, understanding that is necessary to navigate in the complex regulatory landscape of gene therapies. ๐Ÿ—บ๐Ÿงฌ

The output of the special course is a detailed step by step regulatory plan custom made for Milky Way Biotech ApS by Elizabeth, which is soon going to become a crucial element of our ambitious journey. ๐Ÿš€

Had a great time representing our start-up along the ๐‘๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก & ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ event organized by SBE DTU at Technical University of Denmark. ๐Ÿ’ซ

This event aimed for students to get in touch with different research groups within life science and biotechnology and get an insight in their latest research and projects. ๐Ÿš€

As an outcome, we managed connect to with a great number of students and raised awareness about our special courses which we are going to offer at DTU next year.
