Once you start looking, you will see NKT (almost) everywhere. This summer, we challenged our colleagues to keep an eye out for NKT power cables and cable drums in the real world – whether on their commute, near a construction site or somewhere unexpected during their holidays.

The result? Lots of great photos from across Europe showing our products out in the world, often just before they are installed underground, behind walls or beneath the sea.

Most of the time, power cables are designed to go unnoticed. But behind the reliable connections that power homes, communities, renewable energy and industry, there is a vast network of infrastructure – and the work of thousands of people who make it possible.

Meet Kirsten.

"I have always had a passion for learning and understanding how things work."
That curiosity has taken Kirsten from maintaining heavy machinery on the mines in Western Australia to starting a new career as a Trainee Jointer with NKT in the UK.

For Kirsten, it is all about learning, growing and taking on new challenges. She is already looking forward to developing new skills at our training centre in Karlskrona and becoming part of the team that helps build the reliable connections our world depends on.

We are proud to have people like Kirsten joining NKT—people who bring curiosity, determination and a willingness to keep learning every day.

A strong safety culture is built by sharing knowledge across teams, sites and countries.

That is exactly what Johanna Schuster is helping to do in her new role as Group HSE Manager. Having moved from an HSE Specialist role in Cologne, she now works across NKT to strengthen and harmonise our global HSE processes while ensuring they remain practical and relevant for our sites.

By connecting local experience with global expertise, colleagues like Johanna help us continuously improve how we work and strengthen our commitment to a safer workplace.

For Nathalie Skogh, being an Account Manager at NKT is all about building strong relationships with customers.

Working across southern Sweden, she partners closely with wholesalers, sharing knowledge about our product range, introducing new solutions and working together to support installers in their daily work.

“What I enjoy most is the variety. No two days are the same, and building trust with customers is what really drives me,” she says.

With a strong background in sales and several years in the industry, Nathalie brings both experience and a fresh perspective to the role. She values being part of a team where different viewpoints are welcomed and where she can contribute and make an impact.

Happy Global Wind Day. Wind energy continues to be a cornerstone of the global energy transition and a key element in ensuring a reliable power supply and strengthening Europe’s energy sovereignty.

At NKT, we support the development of both onshore and offshore wind by delivering high-voltage power cable infrastructure that connects renewable energy to the grid.

Our offshore journey began in Denmark, where we installed the cable for the world’s first offshore wind farm in 1991. Since then, we have continued to advance cable technology, from early offshore developments to delivering the world’s first 525 kV XLPE offshore cable systems for the IJmuiden Ver and Nederwiek offshore wind zones in the Netherlands.

At the same time, our onshore solutions enable the expansion and reinforcement of the grid, ensuring that growing volumes of renewable energy can be transmitted efficiently and reliably.
