Interpack 2026 was a fantastic week for HM Systems.
We had the pleasure of speaking with manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, and partners from across Europe and beyond, about the trends shaping the future of labelling and production.

Some of the strongest topics during the exhibition included:
🔹Growing demand for Linerfree labelling solutions
🔹Strong interest in HM Cross Web solutions for flexible packaging and high-speed production lines
🔹Increased focus on automation and operational efficiency
🔹More practical conversations around sustainability and waste reduction
🔹Continued focus on hygienic and food-safe production environments
🔹High activity from the food and packaging industries

As Jan Kondrup from HM Systems noted during the exhibition:

I weekenden kunne vores kollega Kim Andersen fejre sit imponerende 25 års jubilæum hos HM Systems.

Og ærligt talt siger det meget om, hvordan hverdagen hos HM Systems er.

I 25 år har Kim været en del af vores elafdeling, hvor han har arbejdet med spændende projekter, tekniske udfordringer og løsninger, der gør en reel forskel. Men lige så vigtigt fremhæver han menneskene omkring sig, samarbejdet, opbakningen og de stærke relationer, der bliver bygget gennem årene.

𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭.
That’s exactly the challenge Hans Ove Høier from our construction team is working on right now.

He’s part of a development project where we’re building a labelling system for full-wrap labelling of vacuum-packed duck and poultry products. The challenge? No two packages have the same shape. Legs, bones and uneven surfaces mean the product height can vary a lot, which makes it difficult to place a label precisely.

For Hans-Ove, that’s exactly what makes the project interesting.

“It’s new territory for me, and that’s what I enjoy,” he says. “You can’t just rely on what you already know. You must experiment, learn new techniques and find solutions along the way.”

One of the things he appreciates most is being involved in the entire process, from the first machine drawings to producing prototype parts on our 3D printers in the workshop.

Seeing an idea move from a sketch on a screen to a physical component you can actually hold in your hand has a certain magic to it.

And sometimes, it all starts with a chicken or duck leg that refuses to behave.

Sometimes the label just won’t play straight.
That’s where flexibility makes the difference.

In this video, you see a Top and bottom HM4000S Cross web labeller with a tilt system, built to handle a difficult challenge with triangular products such as cheese and sandwiches. 🥪

This HM4000S bottom labeller can label triangular products in any position from 0 to 45 degrees. It is also able to save four positions eg 15, 25, 35 and 45 degrees for quick label change. Adjustments are quick and easy and the tilt system quickly adapts to any uneven product.
