A Swedish packaging and labelling company already had a machine for wrap-around labelling of sewing thread.

But the new rolls came with one important difference.
They were smaller.
Small enough that the existing machine could no longer handle them.

Together with a label and print partner, we developed a new solution designed around the smaller diameter, from the mechanical handling of the roll to the label and print setup.

Same type of labelling.
A few millimetres less to work with.

Meet Leif Frank, one of the skilled hands in our machine workshop. ⚙️

Leif is the kind of colleague who gives that little bit extra when needed. He cares about the quality of his work, takes pride in his craftsmanship and enjoys being part of the team around him.

And for Leif, work is not only about the machines.
“I really like the people here. We have a good atmosphere, and I think that matters a lot in everyday life.”

That is also why Leif is part of our staff association, helping create some of the things that bring colleagues together outside the daily tasks.

𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧.
This one just needed a grill, a few sausages and the right people around it. 🌭
Our staff association has arranged a little late-summer get-together at HM Systems, so we are ending the week with good food, bad jokes and a bit more time with the colleagues we usually only see between meetings, machines and coffee breaks.

And with Slagter Lampe practically within sight of our factory, and making sausages we know are worth putting on the grill, there was really no need to overcomplicate the sausage situation. 😉

One machine. Several orders. Same application.

Peppers, onions and other fresh vegetables may not have much in common when it comes to size and shape. But for Droptop’s customer in the Czech Republic, they all had one thing in common. The label needed to be applied to the bottom side of the vegetable pack. 🫑🧅🍅

That called for a labelling solution with enough flexibility to handle different pack sizes without making the application more complicated than necessary.

The HM600 became part of the answer.
And it wasn’t the last order.

From 12 August 2026, new requirements under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR, apply.

For manufacturers, changes to packaging can raise some very practical questions on the production line:

🔸 What happens to the marking process if your packaging material changes?
🔸 Is the marking still clear, readable and durable on the new material?
🔸 Can the right data be transferred reliably to the right product?

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 👏⚙️
Three and a half years ago, Jacob began his apprenticeship with HM Systems. In July, he completed his training and can now officially call himself a qualified Automation Technician.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Jacob has developed both professionally and personally, and we have come to know him as a skilled, dedicated and well liked colleague. He approaches new challenges with curiosity, a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.

We are also very pleased that Jacob will be staying with us as an Automation Technician for the coming months, until folk high school calls.

Congratulations on this well deserved achievement, Jacob. We are proud to have been part of your journey and look forward to having you with us for a little while longer. 👏
