Honoring Dobele's 770 Years of History!
Not only did we celebrate in Daugavpils, but we also marked the anniversary of Dobele, commemorating 770 years since its establishment. Just as in Daugavpils, our employees in Dobele, along with their families, participated enthusiastically, proudly representing East Metal and our production.

East Metal was established in Dobele in 1997, and we are proud to have grown into one of the biggest employers and contributors to the community. Our deep connection to Dobele is reflected in our commitment to its ongoing development and prosperity.

Godinot Dobeles 770 gadu vēsturi!
Ne tikai svinējām Daugavpilī, bet arī atzīmējām Dobeles gadadienu, pieminot 770 gadus kopš tās dibināšanas. Tāpat kā Daugavpilī, arī Dobelē mūsu darbinieki kopā ar ģimenēm aktīvi piedalījās, lepni pārstāvot East Metal un mūsu ražošanu.

East Metal tika dibināts Dobelē 1997. gadā, un mēs lepojamies, ka esam izauguši par vienu no lielākajiem darba devējiem un kopienas atbalstītājiem. Mūsu dziļā saikne ar Dobeli atspoguļo mūsu apņemšanos veicināt tās attīstību un labklājību.

Valdis Dombrovskis, one of European leading politicians, visited us at the East Metal production site in Dobele. During the visit, we presented our production site, development directions, as well as the opportunities for European Union (EU) support in the development of Latvian companies.

We discussed the global market trends in our industry and the outlook for metalworking. We are increasingly impressed by the growing involvement of India and China in metalworking. The impact of war is also significantly impacting the availability of labor in the region. To be more competitive, labor taxes need to be reviewed.

Green growth and sustainability are on the agenda for the coming years both globally and in the EU. We demonstrated good practice on sustainability issues in our company and told them that East Metal also produces various components for wind turbines. The Green Deal is our future, so we hope that the multiple changes that will affect companies will be introduced in a planned way and dialogue with industry.

Vizītes laikā iepazīstinājām ar mūsu ražotni, attīstības virzieniem, kā arī Eiropas Savienības (ES) atbalsta iespējām Latvijas uzņēmumu attīstībā.

Diskutējām par mūsu industrijas globālajām tirgus tendencēm un metālapstrādes jomas perspektīvu. Šobrīd arvien lielāku iespaidu rada Indijas un Ķīnas aktīvāka iesaistīšanās metālapstrādē. Tāpat arī kara ietekme būtiski ietekmē darbaspēka pieejamību reģionā. Lai mēs varētu būt konkurētspējīgāki, ir jāpārskata darbaspēka nodokļi.

Gan globāli, gan Eiropas Savienībā zaļais kurss un ilgtspēja ieņem nozīmīgu vietu turpmāko gadu dienaskārtībā. Demonstrējām labo praksi ilgtspējas jautājumos mūsu uzņēmumā, kā arī pastāstījām par to, ka arī “East Metal” ražo dažādas komponentes vēja turbīnām. Zaļais kurss ir mūsu nākotne, tāpēc ceram, ka dažādas izmaiņas, kas skars uzņēmumus, tiks ieviestas plānveidīgi un dialogos ar nozari.

Last week, we welcomed our "shadows," referring to potential new engineers shadowing our current team. They had the opportunity to observe and learn about various aspects of engineering firsthand, gaining valuable insights into the profession.

Engaging closely with schools and supporting students is one of our main initiatives to expand knowledge about the steel industry and its significance. So, it was truly inspiring to see the next generation showing a keen interest in the engineering profession.

With such talented individuals stepping up, we can be confident that our future is in safe and capable hands! 🙌

Exciting day at East Metal! 👨‍🏭

We recently hosted a factory tour for graduates from the University of Technology in Turkey.

As proud representatives of the metal industry, we are committed to bridging the gap between theory and practice. In line with an international educational project, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase the inner workings of our industry and enhance the practical understanding of future welding engineers.

We are proud to contribute to the educational system once again!

We're excited to announce that East Metal got recognized by LDDK as the standout among Zemgale region companies. 🏆

For the sixth time, the Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) organised the award ceremony "Dari un mācies - viss tikai sācies!", where they honoured companies that have been responsive and implemented work-based learning (WBL) and internships, giving vocational school students the opportunity to practice in a real company environment.

“It's crucial for companies to play a role in helping young people bridge the gap between school theory and practical work experience. By doing so, we're not just benefiting our own company or industry, but also making a positive impact on the overall economy. Supporting the development of smart and knowledgeable young individuals is key for our country to become more export-oriented and to excel in creating high-value products and services. That's why initiatives like this one hold such significance,” remarks our Supply Chain Director Mārtiņš Lavrenovs.

Latvijas Darba devēju konfederācija (LDDK) jau sesto reizi organizēja apbalvošanas ceremoniju "Dari un mācies - viss tikai sācies!", kurā pateicās uzņēmumiem, kas bijuši atsaucīgi un īstenojuši darba vidē balstītas mācības (DVB) un prakses, dodot iespēju profesionālo skolu audzēkņiem praktizēties reālā uzņēmumu vidē.

This week, we proudly hosted East Metal Health Week, a celebration of well-being and a testament to our dedication to our employees' health.

In our efforts to foster a healthy and happy workplace, we offered our team a lecture on "Burnout - reality or myth of the 21st century," addressing critical issues in modern life. We firmly believe in nurturing not just physical health but also mental well-being.

To boost immunity and keep everyone energized, we provided a basket full of healthy food for all our employees to enjoy. After all, a balanced diet is the cornerstone of good health.
Additionally, we gave an opportunity to our employees to get their health checked by a doctor who came to our factories in Latvia.

Our commitment to the health and happiness of our team is
unwavering, and we'll continue to explore new ways to support our employees in their journey to well-being. 💪
