AQUAPORIN AND KLARWIN SUPPORT EMERGENCY WATER TREATMENT
Earlier this week, the reverse osmosis treatment plant in Târnăveni, Romania was commissioned as part of the response to the Praid catastrophe.
Aquaporin supported the project by delivering Aquaporin CLEAR® reverse osmosis membranes directly from stock, working closely with our long-standing partner Klarwin, the Târnăveni City-hall and the local utility Aquaserv. The membranes were supplied for a plug-and-play, containerized RO system with a designed capacity of 250 m³/h, supporting the rapid establishment of drinking water treatment for the local community.
The emergency project reflects how established partnerships, practical solutions, and readily available membrane technology can support dependable access to safe drinking water when time is critical.
To date, more than 400 membrane elements have been supplied for the emergency response. Two systems are already in operation, with an additional installation scheduled to begin operation in January near Mureş, Romania.
Aquaporin’s Commercial Director, Søren Robenhagen, has followed the project closely and served as the primary point of contact with Klarwin in Romania.
“We value our long-standing collaboration with Klarwin and their strong ex*****on capabilities in this difficult situation. This project demonstrates what can be achieved through close cooperation, and we see it as an important step in further strengthening our partnership.”
In early 2026, we will share a more in-depth look at this project in a dedicated blog post, focusing on the solution and the role of Aquaporin Inside® membrane technology in supporting a rapid and resilient response.
