Some of tomorrow's plant health experts spent a day in the field with us 🌱

Yesterday we were happy to welcome around 30 MSc and PhD students from the Euroleague of Life Sciences Universities Summer School to our South Sweden field trial station.

The Summer School explores how changing legislation, environmental pressures and scientific developments are shaping the future of plant protection. During the visit, we looked at what that means in practice: from choosing the right field trial site and designing scientifically robust studies to understanding how field data supports regulatory decisions.

Of course, no visit to a field trial station would be complete without getting out into the field. The students also had the opportunity to see our facilities, specialised machinery and ongoing trials, while discussing the practical challenges behind generating reliable data.

It's always rewarding to meet students who are curious about where science meets real-world application. We enjoyed the discussions throughout the day and hope the visit offered a useful perspective on the role field research plays in bringing new plant protection solutions to agriculture.

Today is World Plant Health Day 🌱 It's a reminder that plant health is not only an agricultural issue, it is closely linked to food security, sustainability, biodiversity and resilient food production.

In our part of the world, Scandinavia and the Baltic region, we see how growers operate under unique climatic conditions and increasing regulatory complexity.

At the same time, pests, diseases and changing weather patterns continue to challenge stable crop production. Plant pests and diseases destroy up to 40% of global food crops every year.

The solutions are available, but bringing new crop protection solutions to the market requires years of science, field trials and regulatory work.
This is what drives the people working across the crop protection industry, from research and development to field trials, regulatory work and farming.
