Conpleks consist of the two companies Conpleks Innovation and Conpleks Robotech. Conpleks Innovation was founded in 2010 by Hans Knutsson and Tom Simonsen. In 2016 they expanded the Conpleks business and started Conpleks Robotech. Engineering and technical knowledge and knowhow is the foundation of the corporate setup and with a group of highly skilled and educated employees Conpleks Innovation and Conpleks Robotech are strong and solid business partners. Conpleks is situated in BusinessPark Struer, a community for entrepreneurs revolving around an innovative, cross-sectional collaboration, which suits Conpleks very well. In general, Struer is a city with many goal-oriented and technology-based companies, which explains why entrepreneurship is a huge part of Struer’s DNA and one of the reasons why Struer today goes by the name City of Sound.

A few years ago, a customer asking about data storage location was an exception. Today, in several of the segments we work with, it is the second or third question that gets asked. Sometimes the first.

Public sector customers want to know where the data actually resides. Critical infrastructure operators want to know who can reach it. Defence-adjacent buyers want guarantees that no one outside their jurisdiction has access.

Manufacturers that can answer those questions clearly are starting to compete on something more than features.

Last week we were out testing data transfer from a live-running robot directly to Clara Cloud.
Not simulated. Not in a lab. An actual machine in the field, doing actual work — and we verified that the data it generates lands correctly and securely in the cloud.
That's what integration testing looks like in practice.

As data requirements and cybersecurity regulations continue to be tightened, the ability to transfer machine data safely is no longer optional. It's a baseline. And it needs to work in the real world — not just on paper.

Building an autonomous machine? 🤖 You do not need one platform. You need three.
A robot platform close to the machine, where embedded software and controllers turn sensors and motors into intelligent behaviour. An app platform close to the operator, where the interface and workflow have to make sense in a real working day. A cloud platform close to the business, where fleet data, integrations and reports turn the machine into a service.

Most manufacturers do not lack ambition. They lack the time and the team to build all three layers in parallel while also building the machine itself.
