Conpleks delivers award-winning robot software and controller hardware for outdoor mobile robots.

Conpleks consist of the two companies Conpleks Innovation and Conpleks Robotech. Conpleks Innovation was founded in 2010 by Hans Knutsson and Tom Simonsen. In 2016 they expanded the Conpleks business and started Conpleks Robotech. Conpleks Innovation offers professional counselling within software, hardware and mechanics for all kinds of research and development projects. Conpleks Robotech works primarily with sale and supply of licensed robot software and controller hardware for outdoor, mobile robots. Engineering and technical knowledge and knowhow is the foundation of the corporate setup and with a group of highly skilled and educated employees Conpleks Innovation and Conpleks Robotech are strong and solid business partners. Conpleks is situated in BusinessPark Struer, a community for entrepreneurs revolving around an innovative, cross-sectional collaboration, which suits Conpleks very well. In general, Struer is a city with many goal-oriented and technology-based companies, which explains why entrepreneurship is a huge part of Struer’s DNA and one of the reasons why Struer today goes by the name City of Sound.

SAVA field notes #1 🌾
Last week we put a dummy in front of our test robot. Then a real person. 🤖
First a dummy, so nothing can go wrong. Then a person, because in the end that is who the machine has to see. 👀

🔬 What is SAVA?
SAVA is a research project where we work together with DTU, the Danish Technological Institute and a number of other companies. The goal is to teach machines working in fields and green areas to spot living beings in their path, and to know how far away they are.

🦌 Why it matters
A lot can hide in front of a machine. Young deer do not run when a machine approaches. They lie still in the grass. When it goes wrong, it is hard on the animal and hard on the farmer who has to deal with it afterwards. The field and the machine have to be cleaned, and nobody wants that job.
And as more machines start driving on their own, there is no longer a driver in the cab to keep watch.

Farmers and operators who want to work safely. And the manufacturers building the next generation of machines, both large and small.

📷📡 How we do it
A camera recognises what is ahead. A radar measures how far away it is. The two have to agree, in real time, that there is someone in front of the machine.
It sounds simple. In a field full of grass, dust and changing light, it is not. The two sensors do not see the world in the same way, and on a moving machine everything has to line up at exactly the same moment.

That is why test days like last week matter. It is where the theory meets the real world. 🌍

A few years ago, a customer asking about data storage location was an exception. Today, in several of the segments we work with, it is the second or third question that gets asked. Sometimes the first.

Public sector customers want to know where the data actually resides. Critical infrastructure operators want to know who can reach it. Defence-adjacent buyers want guarantees that no one outside their jurisdiction has access.

Manufacturers that can answer those questions clearly are starting to compete on something more than features.

Underneath they share the same architecture: a robot platform that runs the machine, an app platform the operator uses, a cloud platform the business depends on.

That is not a coincidence. It is the reason a partner in one industry can ship faster than a competitor in another.They do not have to build solutions from scratch. They build their solutions on proven platforms... ?

Last week we were out testing data transfer from a live-running robot directly to Clara Cloud.
Not simulated. Not in a lab. An actual machine in the field, doing actual work — and we verified that the data it generates lands correctly and securely in the cloud.
That's what integration testing looks like in practice.

As data requirements and cybersecurity regulations continue to be tightened, the ability to transfer machine data safely is no longer optional. It's a baseline. And it needs to work in the real world — not just on paper.
For us, this kind of testing is how we make sure Clara Cloud does exactly what it promises when it counts.
