Only the finest wood enters our workshop, where skilled craftsmen handpick and combine each piece, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern design, respecting future resources. In the south of Denmark you will find a very special workshop; a workshop, where the most skilled and passionate craftsmen and -women create unique and extraordinary bespoke wooden solutions for beautiful kitchens around the world. Only the finest wood is allowed into the SPEKVA workshop, where every single stave of wood is handpicked and combined with an experienced eye for color, texture and the characteristics of the different wood types. When you choose a customized solution from SPEKVA, you feel the craftsmanship, quality, and love in the wood. Each piece of wood has its individual expression, and the wooden staves are processed and combined by experienced hands, giving the finished countertop the most beautiful play and a clear Nordic design identity. SPEKVA was founded by cabinetmaker Johannes Spek in 1971, with a passion for wood and a deep respect for the material. That same foundation still guides the way we work today.

We remain 100% Danish-owned, producing everything in Denmark and working exclusively with wood. Every piece is made to order, allowing us to make better use of this natural resource and minimise unnecessary waste.

Meet Papillon, a dining table that combines a slim solid wood tabletop with a sculptural black steel frame.

Soft curves and contrasting materials give Papillon its distinctive expression, while subtle butterfly-inspired details in the base reference the table’s name.

Shown here in solid walnut and paired with wall-mounted cabinetry in the same wood, creating a visual connection between the table and the surrounding space.

Look closely. The wood doesn’t stop at the worktop.

Running from floor to floor, the solid wood wraps around the kitchen island, framing the dark stone and turning the worktop into an architectural feature.

The contrast between warm wood and dark stone gives the kitchen its character, while the continuous wood detail ties the entire island together.
