Phishing is one of the most common cyberattacks today. It happens when attackers pretend to be a trusted organization like Microsoft, Google, or your bank to trick you into giving away sensitive information.
They may send:
• Fake emails
• Fake login pages
• Messages with malicious links
• Phone calls pretending to be tech support
The goal is simple: steal your passwords, personal data, or financial information.
Example:
You receive a message saying:
“Your account has been compromised. Click here to secure it.”
The link takes you to a fake login page that looks identical to the real one. Once you enter your credentials… the attacker now has them.
This type of attack is called Phishing, and it’s part of a broader manipulation technique known as Social Engineering.
⚠️ Remember: hackers often attack people, not just systems.
🛡 How to Protect Yourself
✔ Always check the sender’s email address
✔ Never click suspicious links in messages or emails
✔ Verify the website URL before logging in
✔ Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
✔ Never share passwords or verification codes
✔ When in doubt, go directly to the official website
Cybersecurity isn’t about hacking people’s accounts…
It’s about protecting data, systems, and users.
Stay aware. Stay secure. 🔐
