🎹 Today’s piano-making episode is all about black keys.

“A piano has black and white keys. To make music, we need them both.”

Simple words, yet they have stayed with me for years. Perhaps because they remind us that harmony is born not from sameness, but from the coming together of contrasts.

Many of you affectionately named our master craftsman Geppetto after his last workshop video. Today, he is carefully gluing the black keys—one by one, with the same patience, precision, and quiet dedication that have shaped Estonia pianos for generations.

Most pianists will never see this part of the journey. Yet every touch, every phrase, every melody begins with countless small acts of craftsmanship like this one.

Because before there is music, there are hands.

Many of you called him Geppetto when you watched him assemble one of our keyboards—a master craftsman bringing wood, precision, and decades of experience to life with his hands.

The Symphony Before the Symphony

A new week arrives, and with it, a different kind of music.

In our factory, there are no pianists on stage today. Instead, the melody comes from the steady movement of a CNC machine shaping a future music desk.

For now, it is simply a piece of a piano. But one day, it will hold the pages of a young student’s first sonata. It will support a concert pianist preparing for a performance. It will carry the notes of compositions that have yet to be imagined.

This week, the factory has its own symphony — quietly creating the stage upon which countless musical stories will one day unfold.
