Visual Air What's on the air we breathe? In many densely populated urban areas, motor vehicle emissions constitute one of the major sources of air pollution.

Main motor vehicle emissions - particulate matter PM10, PM2.5 - were recently designated a Group I carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). However up until today, air quality measurement and monitoring remains inaccessible to private individuals and small business because existing solutions are prohibitively expensive and not user friendly. The goal of the project is

to revolutionize air quality measurements, visualization and data by developing an affordable and easy to use Internet-connected air quality measurement solution aimed at private individuals, households and small businesses.

In 1996, the Scottish scientist Anthony Seaton put forward a new theory about the health problems from modern air pollution. Throughout our evolution, we have always lived with dusts, but Seaton suggested that the problems from modern air pollution were due to the sheer number of tiny pollution particles that we are now exposed to.

Pollutionwatch Engineers call them nano-particles, and standing beside a busy road, we inhale them in truly astonishing numbers
