II's European Service Module not only supplied air, water, electrical power and thermal control during the mission, it propelled NASA's Orion crew over 1 million km through deep space.

Its 'translunar injection' burn set Orion and its crew on their free-return trajectory around the Moon so precisely that two out of the three planned trajectory corrections were cancelled.

Built by European industry under ESA leadership, the European Service Module was assembled by Airbus Space in Germany, with contributions from companies across 13 European countries (Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, UK and Luxembourg) involving 20 main contractors and over 100 European suppliers.

Our team really loves this winter season!

🇪🇪 Estonia is facing one of the coldest winters ❄️ in recent decades, with freezing temperatures affecting the country since the beginning of February 2026.

Prolonged freezing conditions have led to the formation of extensive sea ice, disrupting transport connections and isolating several small islands.

🛰️ These conditions are visible in this image, acquired on 17 February 2026 by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites. The image shows the navigation channel linking the town of Kuivastu, on Muhu Island, with the city of Virtsu on the west coast of mainland Estonia. A narrow corridor carved across the frozen Suur Strait marks the operational route, with a ship visible crossing the sea ice.

🚀 The wait is almost over! Tomorrow (Tuesday), Sentinel-1D will launch into orbit at 10:03 PM (CET), ready to expand Europe’s world-leading radar Earth observation capabilities 🌍

Using advanced data like the European Ground Motion Service (EGMS), powered by Sentinel-1, we can detect ground movement across Europe with millimetre precision.

From monitoring bridges and railways to assessing landslide risks, this data helps keep our infrastructure - and communities - safe.

Sille.space service can detect the sinking and rising of infrastructure objects with an accuracy of 2 millimeters.
For example, we currently provide monthly subsidence analysis for ten major Baltic cities. This allows for the early detection of hazards, and the prevention of accidents.
In addition to cities, we monitor mines and dams extensively.
