Lanmer We sell science stuff

Rainy Sunday feels like the perfect time for a throwback.

Earlier this summer, we visited Põhja-Eesti Regionaalhaigla together with Thermo Fisher Scientific to share real-life experience from the Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in Rome on the practical implementation of NGS-based oncology diagnostics in clinical workflows.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what these kinds of seminars look like, here’s a small peek behind the scenes.

A few days at AMP Europe Congress 2026 in Tallinn reminded us why these meetings matter.

It is one thing to follow developments in molecular diagnostics and pathology from a distance. It is another to be in the same room with specialists from Estonia, Europe, the United States, and Asia, hearing what they are working on, what challenges they see, and where the field is moving next.

For Estonian hospitals and healthcare professionals, the conference was also a good moment of reflection. The discussions showed that the practices used here are modern and well aligned with international standards.

Thank you to the organisers, speakers, and everyone we had the chance to meet in Tallinn!

Tartu is known for bright ideas — and Sparkup Tartu Teaduspark is one of the places where those ideas are given space to grow.

The science park brings together innovation, technology and people who are building things for the future. And for us, it’s always exciting to be part of an environment where the work has a purpose beyond the walls themselves.

And opening new doors in a place like this feels just right for us.

More soon 😎.

The June birthday celebrations continue at Lanmer Group!

Today, we’re celebrating Karmen’s birthday – already the third birthday in our team this June.

Karmen is one of those people who does so much behind the scenes and helps keep things moving every day. Her dedication, support, and positive attitude make a real difference to our team.

Happy Birthday, Karmen!

We wish you lots of joy, success, good energy, and memorable moments on your next trip around the sun!

Some birthday mornings start before you've even had a chance to do your hair. And today was one of those days.

The day brought plenty of unexpected moments – visitors at the door, a birthday serenade from representatives of a renowned US pharmaceutical company, flowers, and messages from friends and colleagues near and far.

Only in the evening was there finally a chance to sit down, catch a breath, and maybe even get a little work done..

All in all, not a bad way to celebrate another trip around the sun. 🎂🎉

The beginning of next week takes us to Tallinn as we're heading to AMP Europe 2026.

If you're attending, let's meet, connect, and talk about the future of molecular pathology. Together with Thermo Fisher Scientific, we're looking forward to welcoming visitors at Booth #2.

Also, don't miss Thermo Fisher Scientific's presentation on June 17 from 09:45–10:45:

Matteo and Giulia travelled from Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in Rome to Estonia – and no, it wasn't just to experience our famous summer weather (read: rain ☔️).

The highlight of their visit was a seminar at Põhja-Eesti Regionaalhaigla, where Matteo shared his expertise and insights with healthcare professionals about the practical implementation of NGS-based oncology diagnostics in clinical workflows.

Thank you to everyone who attended. We strongly believe that sharing knowledge across institutions and learning how colleagues in different countries approach similar challenges helps inspire new ideas and ultimately contributes to better outcomes for patients.

🎓 Success isn't always about taking the easiest path.

For our colleague Vjacheslav, the past few years have been a journey of balancing work, studies, and continuous growth.

Alongside his role at Lanmer, he completed his master's degree in bioengineering at the University of Tartu, culminating in the successful defense of his thesis this week.

Reflecting on the experience, Vjacheslav describes it as both challenging and rewarding:

"Joining Lanmer during my studies made the period more intense, but also much more valuable. There were many new situations and challenges to solve. At the same time, that's exactly what made the experience exciting. Without challenges, life would be much more boring."

While a PhD may be part of the future, his focus right now is on gaining practical experience, developing his expertise, and continuing to grow professionally.

Congratulations, Vjacheslav, on this important milestone!

Some people celebrate birthdays with cake. Kent celebrated his on stage at Deep Tech Investor Day.

A quick capture before discussing the future of cancer cure development together with an incredible panel.

Happy birthday, Kent, and thank you for bringing curiosity, energy and good conversations wherever you go!

From breakfast to pubs – apparently some of the most valuable conversations at Latitude59 side events happen somewhere between coffee and beer.

After a full day across biotech, circular economy and deep-tech discussions in Tallinn, a few things became very clear:

🍄 Food biotech in the New Nordics is accelerating fast.

What used to feel like a niche sustainability topic is increasingly becoming a serious industrial opportunity, especially around local feedstocks, alternative production models and reducing dependency on imported inputs.

⚡ Circular economy is no longer just about waste reduction.

It is increasingly tied to resilience and energy sovereignty. Encouraging to see strong alignment between policymakers and the deep-tech community on these topics.

🚀 Deep-tech spin-outs need a stronger Nordic-Baltic ex*****on model.

The discussion around Aalto University’s recent spin-out development model was especially interesting – particularly the reported 80% baseline sustainability rate for deep-tech spin-outs. That is the kind of benchmark Estonia and the wider Baltic region should study carefully.
..

As Kent Langel reflected, the New Nordics have a real opportunity to connect biotech, food innovation, circular industry, energy resilience and deep-tech commercialization into one coherent industrial strategy.

The ingredients are increasingly visible: strong research capabilities, growing policy alignment, ambitious founders, active investors, and a broader understanding that deep-tech ecosystems require long-term design — not isolated projects.

Now the real question is how quickly this momentum can be transformed into scalable companies, regional value chains and internationally competitive platforms.
