The Association develops, manufactures and sells antifouling, anticorrosive and many more coatings for ships, offshore installations, industrial facilities and yachts. Transocean Represent in Egypt by one of biggest paints company in the middle east , Sipes paints which it has more than 25 year heritage of developing paint market in Egypt . The main activities of Transocean Coatings can shortly
be described as follows:
• Offering its member companies technical and marketing knowhow.
• Offering the customers of Transocean systems quality paints and unique customer service
• Promotion of the Transocean brand, services and products
The activities are concentrated on three product groups:
1- Marine
Transocean Coatings develops, manufactures and sells antifouling, anticorrosive and many more coatings for ships, offshore installations, industrial facilities.
2-Offshore and Onshore structures
Offshore structures, especially the splash zone areas face severe corrosive conditions. In some areas of the world, the climate is very unpredictable implicating that in general thorough surface preparation is not possible and painting work can be interrupted unexpectedly. Getting it right from the start makes very much sense in the oil and gas market since access and window of opportunity is a major obstacle for maintenance painting. Oil companies have therefore raised the standards on material protection and selection. For paints, prequalification standards exist which aim to deliver systems with at least 15 year lifetime. Accelerated cycle corrosion tests like ISO 20340 and Norsok M 501 are used by all major oil companies in addition to specific testing on immersion resistance and compatibility with cathodic protection. All the above makes clear that any paint company active in this market has to be dedicated to corrosion protection. Transocean Coatings is able to take up this challenge and in fact since 1959, Transocean Coatings have been supplying the market with high quality paints combined with an excellent service that provide an excellent protection for the offshore and onshore structures like Platforms, pipes, refinery , storage tanks, Bridges, power plants and so on .
3- Yachting
Pleasure crafts are made out of different materials; metal (steel, aluminum),
wood or Glassfibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP). Left unpainted, marine conditions
will deteriorate these materials. Besides offering protection, coating systems have a decorative function too although for some areas the emphasis is more on the protective component such as antifouling and ballast tanks.
