ENGIE, in collaboration with Orascom Construction PLC, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, and Eurus Energy Holdings, is proud to announce that we have reached the wet financial close for the expansion of the Red Sea Wind Energy wind farm in Egypt!
This expansion will increase the total capacity from 500 MW to 650 MW, with 306 MW already connected to the national grid, ahead of schedule.
ENGIE plays a pivotal role as the technical and financial partner for the project, with a clear vision: to accelerate the energy transition while addressing the growing demand for clean energy.
Once fully operational, the expanded wind farm will provide renewable energy to over 1 million homes and reduce CO₂ emissions by 1.3 million tons annually, supporting Egypt’s environmental and energy goals.
With this project, ENGIE strengthens its leadership in renewable energy across Africa and the Middle East, accelerating the global energy transition.
