*Another Landmark Achievement for Petrojet on the Global Stage*
Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, and H.E. Mohamed Arkab, Algeria’s Minister of Energy, witnessed the signing of the Main Contract for Phase II of the Hassi Bir Rekaiz Field Development Project.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Abdellatif Allaieh, Egypt’s Ambassador to Algeria; Eng. Waleed Lotfy, Chairman of Petrojet; Mr. Andre brunetti, CEO of Arkad; and Mr. Sibera Kolarbkayo and Mr. Abdelkader Moussaoui, General Manager and Deputy General Manager of the Hassi Bir Rekaiz Consortium (Sonatrach–PTTEP), alongside senior officials from Egypt and Algeria’s petroleum sectors.
The project will be delivered by a consortium led by Petrojet, in partnership with Arkad S.p.A., covering a fully integrated EPCCS scope.
Following the signing, Eng. Karim Badawi emphasized that Petrojet is a key ex*****on arm of the petroleum sector, with the expertise and capabilities to efficiently deliver major projects both domestically and internationally.
The project includes the construction of a Central Processing Facility with a capacity of 32,000 barrels per day, along with common facilities to support current and future expansions, including gathering stations, pipeline networks extending approximately 217 km, and associated infrastructure and roadworks.
The award follows a competitive international tender, where the Petrojet-led consortium submitted the most competitive technical and commercial offer—highlighting its proven ability to deliver large-scale projects to the highest international standards.
In parallel, and as part of broader Egyptian–Algerian cooperation in the energy sector, Sonatrach and Petrojet are nearing completion of a joint study to establish an Algerian–Egyptian company to localize the manufacturing of static equipment in Algeria, in line with the ministerial cooperation protocol.
The company is planned to manufacture specialized static equipment in accordance with international ASME standards under a phased approach serving the local market and expanding into West Africa.
Leveraging Petrojet’s over four decades of experience, the company will establish an integrated manufacturing base for key equipment, alongside training programs for Algerian personnel—supporting technology transfer and strengthening local industrial capabilities.
