In order to meet the most difficult technical requirements of various designs, TISTAM offers an extensive range of one-part or multi-sectional piston rings and rider bands, with or without tension springs, as well as pressure-released parts. The piston rings and rider bands were produced in a wide range of customized systems and use numerous materials for the application in horizontal, vertical or v-shaped cylinders. Piston rings are used to seal the piston. They largely prevent gas from flowing out of the compression chamber. In the case of straight or obliquely cut piston rings, overflow of gas at the joint
is unavoidable. Therefore, several piston rings are arranged one behind the other to improve the sealing effect. Rider bands have the task of ensuring precise guidance of the piston rod and piston in the cylinder during operation. They ensure that there is no metallic contact between the piston and the cylinder or cylinder liner at any time.

TISTAM valves suitable for all brands of reciprocating compressors, our valve can be configured for a wide range of operating conditions and virtually any gas process.

We proved it in thousands of hours of tests, many at high speeds and high temperatures, with a wide range of gases. A high-strength thermo-plastic, Poly Ether Ether Ketone (PEEK), is used to create low-mass sealing elements that withstand the high impact velocities that occur during operation. It also handles high temperatures, is compatible with most gas applications, and resists dirt, corrosion and liquid swelling. The PEEK sealing element provides reliable performance in demanding conditions while the streamlined flow path optimizes the effective flow area.

PTFE sealing rings provide an effective seal between the piston and the cylinder wall, preventing gas from leaking during the
compression process. This sealing capability ensures that the gas is properly compressed and maintains the desired pressure levels.
PTFE has low friction properties, reducing the need for additional lubrication between the piston and the cylinder. This is especially beneficial in applications where oil-free operation is desired, such as in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
The inherent wear resistance of PTFE helps prolong the life of the sealing rings and other compressor components, reducing maintenance frequency and costs. PTFE is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, making it suitable for use in compressors that handle aggressive or corrosive gases.
