🔹 Indications – Cattle
QIVITAN® 25 mg/ml is indicated in cattle for:

Respiratory diseases in cattle, often referred to as Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD), are multifactorial syndromes that involve interactions among viral and bacterial pathogens, host immunity, environmental stressors, and management practices. These conditions affect both the upper and lower respiratory tracts and remain a major cause of morbidity, mortality, and economic loss in beef and dairy systems worldwide.
Key Features of BRD
🔹 BRD usually begins when viral invasion damages respiratory epithelium, impairing mucociliary defenses and setting the stage for secondary bacterial infections.
🔹 Common clinical signs include:
• Nasal/ocular discharge
• Coughing
• Fever and anorexia
• Increased respiratory effort
These signs often develop days after a stressful event, such as transport or environmental change.
Contributing Factors
• Environmental stress: extreme weather, poor ventilation
• Overcrowding and transport stress

الخصائص الأساسية
🔹 غالبًا يبدأ المرض بفيروس يهاجم ظهارة الجهاز التنفسي مما يضعف الدفاعات الطبيعية، ثم تتبع ذلك عدوى بكتيرية ثانوية.

• حمى وفقدان الشهية

Core Viral Diseases in Cats: Panleukopenia and “Cat Flu”
Cats are susceptible to several important viral diseases, notably feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) and upper respiratory infections (“cat flu”) caused mainly by feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV 1) and feline calicivirus (FCV).
• Feline panleukopenia: A parvovirus causing severe enteritis, profound leukopenia and high mortality in kittens if unvaccinated; environmental persistence resembles canine parvovirus.
• Cat flu: FHV 1 and FCV cause sneezing, nasal and ocular discharge, conjunctivitis, oral ulceration and anorexia; chronic carriers are common and act as reservoirs.
• Epidemiology: High seroprevalence of FPV, FHV 1 and FCV is reported in clinics and shelters in many countries, with upper respiratory disease outbreaks frequent in multi cat environments.
Routine feline core vaccination (FPV, FHV 1, FCV) markedly reduces severe disease and mortality and is essential in breeding catteries, shelters and urban pet populations.
