Our team is proud to share our participation in two notable conferences during November 2024.

We had the unforgettable opportunity to attend the session of the Minister of Youth and Sports at the fifth edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week and we were honored to meet Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Naqeeb at the Third Annual Conference of the Armed Forces’ Medical Research Laboratories and Blood Bank.

Conference 1: Arab Sustainable Development Week
We took part in the Arab Sustainable Development Week, organized by the League of Arab States in collaboration with international partners under the theme “Sustainable Solutions for a Better Future.” Our team was privileged to attend the session of the Minister of Youth and Sports, where the latest innovations and developmental projects were showcased. This event provided us with invaluable insights that will greatly benefit our upcoming research projects, particularly as we prepare for the iGEM competition.

Conference 2: Annual Conference of the Armed Forces’ Medical Research Laboratories
We were honored to meet Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Naqeeb, Director of the Armed Forces' Medical Research Laboratories, who delivered an opening speech emphasizing the importance of advancing medical services. The team benefited from the scientific lectures and workshops conducted by both local and international experts. Additionally, the technical exhibition featuring the latest advancements in medical diagnostics introduced us to cutting-edge technologies that will be invaluable for our research projects.

Looking Ahead:
Following our active participation in both conferences, we are now more prepared to work on our new scientific project for 2025, as part of our preparations for the iGEM competition. We are committed to achieving milestones that reflect our ambitions and contribute to the advancement of scientific research and the excellence of our Armed Forces.

This is exactly the question we asked ourselves at the beginning of this year's project 📆. In 2024, AFCM Egypt iGEM Team decided to invent an innovative therapeutic platform in the field of wound healing and wound regeneration🧬🩹.
Hence came the idea of SONG-H🎼🎶.Stem cell-based, occlusive, nutrient, gel of healing directed towards the induction of wound regeneration using Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs)🧬🧫.

We're excited to announce that SUPER has won the **Best Presentation Special prize** at iGEM startups VCL 2024🚀! This recognition of our presentation skills is incredibly rewarding and it motivates us to continue in this journey even further.🤩🦸‍♂️

We want to express our gratitude to the judges for recognizing our work. We dedicated ourselves to showcasing our therapeutic platform for autoimmune diseases and it's truly rewarding to witness the positive reception, from the audience.🧬💊

This recognition is a result of the teamwork within SUPER. We directed our efforts toward making a presentation that successfully conveyed our vision.📣

Winning the Best Presentation award is indeed an accomplishment but the real victory lies in the experiences gained along this interesting journey. VCL 2024 provided us with a month full of learning, teamwork, and creative thinking. We want to thank the VCL community and the lecturers we met throughout the VCL for this fantastic experience and skills.

We Did It! SUPER Wins Grand Prize at BioHackathon 2024! 💪
This is a moment we won't soon forget! We, the SUPER team, are thrilled to announce that we've taken the Grand Prize at BioHackathon 2024! 🦸

Our therapeutic platform for autoimmune diseases resonated with the judges, and we're ecstatic about the potential it holds for transforming healthcare. It's been an incredible journey, and we learned a ton throughout the iGEM startups biohackathon.

But beyond the learning, it was an absolute blast! We can't thank the organizers enough for their "really insane" support. They truly went above and beyond to create an amazing experience for everyone involved.

BioHackathon 2024 was a whirlwind of innovation and teamwork. Witnessing the passion and creativity of the 400 participants across 40 teams was truly inspiring. We were blown away by the energy and dedication everyone brought to the competition.

This year's BioHackathon has truly showcased the potential of synthetic biology to tackle some of the world's biggest challenges. We're excited to be a part of this movement and can't wait to see what the future holds! Here's to seeing you all at the Venture Creation Labs next month! 🦸

Hello Everyone,

We’re excited to be hosted by the BackSpace Community to give a comprehensive workshop on Synthetic Biology (Syn-Bio) and its promising applications in different fields. The workshop will be given by a number of our team members and we will discuss multiple topics including; Definition of Syn-Bio and Bio-Bricks, different applications of Syn-Bio, in addition to a bioinformatics workshop. Our team will also give a talk on the iGEM competition and the team’s previous participation and projects. We will also mention the necessary steps to apply for the competition and how to build an iGEM team.

The workshop will be held on the 26th of September at 5 o’clock and the attendance is free for anyone who’s interested to learn about the potentials of Syn-Bio.
