Foldit players are being challenged to fold a protein treatment candidate to block the binding of SARS-CoV-2019’s spike protein to a human cell receptor called ACE2 receptors to halt infection. A protein that binds the virus’ spike protein could help hinder the infection, and provide the basis for antiviral medications.

These gamers are solving a protein structure puzzle that could help kickstart coronavirus antiviral medications.

المحاضرين لديهم خبرات مسبقة في التقنية المقدمة . ستتضمن المحاضرات عرضًا تفاعليًا عن طريق الإنترنت , مقاطع فيديو مسجلة مسبقًا لمساعدة الباحثين على فهم التقنيات بشكل كامل ولتحفيزهم على تنفيذها مباشرة في المعمل.

After obtaining PharmD degree from University of Lomé, Togo, Dr. ISSA joined Dr. Serge Birman’s laboratory at ESPCI (École supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles; Paris Industrial Physics and Chemistry Higher Educational Institution) and University of Pierre et Marie-Curie in Paris, from where he received his master’s and PhD degrees on investigating the cellular and molecular basis of aging and neurodegeneration in Drosophila.
Dr. ISSA is currently a research fellow in Professor Claudio Alonso’s laboratory, University of Sussex. He is studying the molecular mechanisms controlling gene function in the nervous system during development and neurodegeneration.

Biotopia proudly introduces the relaunch of Be Prepared in collaboration with TReND in Africa
Be Prepared is a project that targets young Biotechnology Scholars. The sessions will include orientation about new and frequently used techniques in the laboratory.
The presenter will be an expert in the technique that has worked routinely with the presented technique. The sessions will include an interactive online presentation and pre-recorded videos to help to researchers fully understand the techniques and motivate them to directly implement them in the laboratory environment.
