Teachers are transforming how children learn about climate change.

Climate education too often remains confined to textbooks as abstract concepts that are difficult to connect to daily life. With UNESCO's support, teachers around the world are bringing sustainability out of theory and into everyday learning, rethinking their lessons and how their schools operate.

In Wakatobi, Indonesia, teacher Lisa built an ocean literacy lesson around what children already observe in their daily lives: the fish species they recognise, how the seasons change and why it matters to their community. In Cambodia, a maths lesson on multiplication became an exercise in calculating how much CO₂ a tree can absorb. In a history lesson, teacher Vuthy encouraged students to explore how droughts and floods shaped past societies and continue to shape their communities today.

Teachers like Lisa and Vuthy are helping prepare the next generation to be climate ready.

With 60% of rural households globally keeping livestock – and 93% in sub-Saharan Africa – livestock is central to rural transformation.

For millions of small-scale producers, livestock is not only a source of food and income, but also an asset base, a buffer against shocks and a pathway into markets.

This is why IFAD partners with governments to scale up investment in the sector.

Our approach focuses on primary production, stronger value chains and an enabling policy and regulatory environment: the foundations needed to turn livestock from a subsistence activity into a driver of rural transformation.

Since 2010, IFAD has invested US$6.1 billion in the sector, reflecting the tangible returns livestock delivers. Livestock is a primary target in 21% of IFAD projects and is included in 44% of IFAD investments.

In , the AEP-Youth programme shows how targeted support can help rural young people build viable agropastoral enterprises. By combining access to finance, technical training, business incubation and market linkages, the programme reached more than 30,000 young people, supported over 3,000 new businesses and helped generate nearly 15,000 jobs.

The results were measurable: livestock production increased by 152%, gross income by 151% and unprocessed livestock sales by 109% on average.

When livestock investments are paired with training, market access, collective organization and supportive institutions, they strengthen food security, build resilience and stimulate local economic activity.

تعلن أكاديمية البحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا عن فتح باب التقدم بمقترحات بحثية مشتركة ضمن بروتوكول التعاون العلمي والتكنولوجي مع المؤسسة الوطنية الصينية للعلوم الطبيعية (NSFC)، وذلك خلال الفترة من 3 أغسطس حتى 11 سبتمبر 2026، لدعم التعاون البحثي بين الباحثين المصريين والصينيين.

مجالات التقدم:

*Agricultural Informatics
*Clean Energy

التمويل ومدة المشروع:

* مدة المشروع: 36 شهرًا
* التمويل: 1.5 مليون جنيه مصري لكل مشروع على مدار ثلاث سنوات.

* يتقدم الباحث المصري والباحث الصيني بالمقترح البحثي خلال نفس فترة الإعلان، كلٌ عبر الموقع الإلكتروني الخاص بجهته.
* التقديم من الجانب المصري يتم إلكترونيًا فقط من خلال:
