Today, our founder, Dr. Emre Yemişken, had the privilege of joining EXPO FOODTECH as a speaker in the session “Upcycling Agri-Industrial Sidestreams into Sustainable Food Ingredients.”

The discussion brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders committed to transforming agricultural by-products into valuable, sustainable food solutions. As the food industry continues to evolve, upcycling represents one of the most promising pathways toward reducing waste, improving resource efficiency, and creating a more resilient food system.

At Tetis Biotech, we are proud to contribute to this transformation through science-driven innovation, turning challenges into opportunities and supporting the development of sustainable ingredients for the future of food.

We are honored to share that our founder, Dr. Emre Yemişken, was recognized at the 2026 Istanbul University Awards (İstanbul Üniversitesi Ödülleri 2026) in the Entrepreneurial Academician (Girişimci Akademisyen) category.

This recognition reflects a year of dedication to transforming scientific research into real-world impact. From international R&D and innovation projects, patent applications and approvals, and trademark achievements to receiving prestigious EIT Food awards and successfully commercializing innovative products, these accomplishments demonstrate the power of bridging academia and industry.

Kurucumuz Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Emre Yemişken, İstanbul Üniversitesi Ödülleri 2026 kapsamında Girişimci Akademisyen kategorisinde ödüle layık görüldü.

Bu anlamlı ödül, bilimsel araştırmaları gerçek hayatta karşılık bulan çözümlere dönüştürme yolunda gösterilen özverinin bir yansımasıdır. Uluslararası Ar-Ge ve inovasyon projelerinden patent başvuruları ve tescillerine, marka çalışmalarından prestijli EIT Food ödüllerine ve yenilikçi ürünlerin ticarileştirilmesine kadar uzanan bu başarılar, akademi ile sanayi arasındaki iş birliğinin gücünü ortaya koymaktadır.

A little late to post, but still too good not to share. 🌊🇪🇸

Great discussions, new perspectives, and exciting possibilities around marine-based biopolymers during our visit to Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

What started as a visit quickly turned into an inspiring exchange of ideas around the potential of marine byproducts and biopolymers. Exploring how compounds derived from fish processing side streams could contribute to entirely new applications reminded us why collaboration matters so much in sustainability-driven innovation.
