The refit season used to wind down by late spring. Not this year.
We’re ending May with more yachts in the yard than we’d normally see at this point: engine replacements, hull repaints, propeller work, mast repairs. A bit of everything, honestly. Some of these projects will run well into summer, and we’re fine with that.
It’s something we’re seeing across the industry too. The global superyacht fleet keeps growing, but it’s also getting older:
• Over 6,100 vessels above 30 metres in operation
• Average age over 11 years
• Nearly 30% of yachts built before 2010 now need serious refit work.
• Yards across the Western Med are running at full capacity, including us.
The old seasonal window just doesn’t apply the way it used to. Refit season and navigation season are overlapping more and more, and that’s pushed us to adapt how we work.
We’ve done that. And we’re ready for whatever comes in.
