We’re keeping up with maintenance and improvements around our facilities. This includes preparing and repainting surfaces in the workshop, as well as dredging the travelift pit to increase the available draft.

Remember to keep an eye on the sky this Wednesday, 12 August!

In Dénia, the eclipse will begin at 19:39:28, reaching approximately 99% coverage at its maximum at 20:33:50. At that moment, the Sun will be only around 4° above the horizon, so make sure you find a high spot with a clear view towards the west.

In Ibiza, the eclipse will begin at 19:39:17, reaching totality at its maximum at 20:33:18.

In Palma, the eclipse will begin at 19:38:05, reaching totality at its maximum at 20:31:54.

Wherever you watch it from, remember to always use certified eclipse glasses when looking at the Sun and never look directly at it without proper eye protection.

Why do we need divers during a superyacht haul out?

Before lifting begins, the slings need to be positioned exactly where they should be. Our Project Management team works from the yacht’s lifting plan to determine the correct position for each sling, but the final check happens underwater.

Once the Travelift is in position, the divers check each sling against the hull and stay in constant communication with the team ashore. They can make small adjustments underwater, or coordinate with the Travelift operator when further repositioning is needed.

The lifting plan is always the starting point, but what we find underwater doesn’t always match it exactly. That’s why the divers check the actual position of every sling and work with the team ashore until everything is correctly positioned before the lift begins.

It’s a part of the haul out that you don’t usually see, but an important one.
