🎉 Welcome Ben, Our New Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Benjamin Sommerkorn to the Innitius team!

Ben joins us this month as Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, where he will define and execute our regulatory strategy, oversee audits and risk management, and ensure that our work stays aligned with evolving regulatory frameworks. His expertise will be vital as we move into pivotal clinical phases and prepare for commercialization.

Ben holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, during which he worked as both a researcher and lecturer. For the past four years, he has served at the FDA as a Lead Engineer Reviewer, bringing invaluable regulatory insight and experience to his new role at Innitius.

At Innitius, our mission is powered by people who believe that advancing maternal health means shaping a better future for everyone. In this new series, we will be sharing the personal stories of our team, what inspired them to enter this field, the moments that shaped their path, and what they hope to change.

✨ To kick it off, meet Irene Gutierrez Gonzalez, Regulatory Affairs Manager.

“For me, maternal health matters to everyone, because it’s where every life begins. How we care for mothers during pregnancy shapes not only their health, but also the future of their children and our society.”

Irene’s journey began with a striking observation: how often pregnant women are excluded from research and product use due to lack of safety data. While intended to protect, this leaves us without the knowledge needed to provide the best possible care.
