In agriculture, making decisions also means knowing how to manage risk.

On 15 October, our Head of Agronomic Development, Manuel Martín-Andrés, will take part in AGRINVESTMENT 2026, the 2nd edition of an event bringing together agricultural investors and business leaders from the agri-food sector.

Under the theme “New Investment Opportunities in High-Value Crops: Risks, Trends and Strategic Insights”, the event will address some of the key factors shaping agricultural decision-making: water, climate and markets.

Manuel Martín-Andrés will join the panel discussion in Session III: “Risk Management: Water, Climate and Markets”, sharing Herogra’s agronomic perspective.

After harvest, the crop cycle is not over. While leaves remain physiologically active, woody crops continue to accumulate and redistribute nutrients that will support key stages of the following season, including bud break, flowering and fruit set.

This makes autumn a strategic period to:
🌱 restore the plant’s nutritional status
🌱 support reserve accumulation
🌱 optimise the availability of key nutrients before dormancy
🌱 prepare the crop for the next production cycle

But timing, crop stage and nutrient selection are critical. In deciduous crops, for example, foliar uptake decreases as senescence progresses, while in olive groves the nutritional strategy must be adapted according to whether the fruit is still on the tree.

We traveled to Georgia to gain first-hand insight into the development of the blueberry sector and to further strengthen our collaboration with our distributor. 🛫

During the visit, we met with the country’s leading research center, visited 7 points of sale, and toured 7 commercial blueberry farms across different areas of Western Georgia.

It was a week of listening, learning about the market’s needs, and identifying new opportunities for our plant nutrition and biostimulation solutions.

We found a rapidly growing sector that is increasingly focused on professionalization, with new varieties, fertigation systems, container production, and export-oriented projects.

We’re coming back with a wealth of knowledge and, above all, plenty of motivation to continue working alongside our partners in Georgia. 🙌

A journey of more than a century represents years of learning, adaptation, and commitment to the people and sectors we support.

On October 1st, 2026, our managing director, Jaime Abad, will participate in the round table “The Select Club of the 0.03%. Key Insights for Managing Companies with More Than 100 Years of History”, as part of the Andalusian Agri-Food Awards.
