Our CEO, Sara Arbós, was recently interviewed to share the story of Bellapart as a family business across four generations.

From our beginnings as a small workshop in Olot making metal parts for textile machinery, to becoming a global reference in high-end façade engineering, the interview highlights the pivotal moments, challenges, and innovations that have shaped who we are today.

One of our projects completed in 2023, was recently unveiled! The timber façade for Heatherwick Studio’s headquarters in London.

The entrance façade features full-height sliding timber doors, along with other operable and fixed elements. The entire manufacturing process required the utmost delicacy and precision to ensure the highest quality finishes—reflecting both technical excellence and refined craftsmanship.

🎉 IKEA Valladolid shortlisted for Project of the Year at the SFE Façade Awards 2025, led by the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE).

Bellapart engineered and executed the complete dismantling, redesign, and installation of the new façade system — preserving as much of the original structure as possible. In total, 84% of the new façade’s glass surface was salvaged from the previous installation, carefully restored and reinstalled to appear as new.

♻️ This strategy not only met the client’s request for material reuse, but also achieved a 53% reduction in Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to a fully new system — showing how circularity and structural precision can go hand in hand.

It was a pleasure to attend the inauguration of the Louvre Saint-Honoré building last week at the Philharmonie de Paris. After five years of construction, we are proud to have contributed to this outstanding architectural project led by Jean Nouvel, by delivering the groundfloor façade and canopy.
Nous exprimons notre gratitude à SFL (Société Foncière Lyonnaise) et à la Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain pour leur confiance et leur collaboration tout au long du processus. C’est un honneur de prendre part à une transformation qui redéfinit le lien entre l’art, l’architecture et le tissu urbain parisien.

Actuellement, les travaux d’aménagement intérieur se poursuivent et l’inauguration finale est prévue pour octobre 2025. Nous espérons que cette dernière étape soit couronnée de succès !✨

This year's edition of the Glass Performance Days (GPD), our structural engineer Francesc Sánchez shared the story behind one of the iconic features of our latest project: the stunning 140-meter-long glass canopy for the new Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, right next to the Louvre Museum in Paris.

This comprehensive project involved numerous highly demanding technical and security elements, yet today we are highlighting the design and development of this monumental canopy involved 84 unique laminated glass panels, each playing a structural role while also supporting the drainage system and resisting environmental loads. The project included extensive full-scale testing in line with French standards to validate its performance and safety.

In close collaboration with Ateliers Jean Nouvel and TESS atelier d'ingénierie, Bellapart designed and built this monumental canopy that truly defines the character of the overall façade.

This year's edition of Glass Performance Days (GPD), our structural engineer Carles-Hug Bitlloch Martínez shared a vision that goes beyond conventional engineering: the real potential of reusing laminated glass in architecture — not just as a technical challenge, but as a commitment to environmental responsibility.
Through a project carried out at IKEA Valladolid, Carles‑Hug demonstrated how reusing glass façades can be a viable, economical, and impactful option. With clarity and depth, he highlighted the importance of doing things differently — with greater awareness and smarter resource use.

We are honoured to share that our President, Francesc Arbós Bellapart, who has been leading the family company since 1982 and represents the third generation of Bellapart, has been recognised by Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya with the Professional Career Recognition Award for the Girona region.

Receiving this recognition at a regional level has also led to his nomination for the same award category at the Catalonia-wide finals.
We wish him the very best of luck!

We are proud to share that the iconic Le Visionnaire – Espace François Dalle project has been recognized with the Best Structural Glass Facade award at the USGlass Magazine­­® Design Awards — an additional accolade that adds to the already impressive track record of this building, which has previously received three other awards for its technical and architectural excellence.

🥂Another remarkable project by Bellapart has been inaugurated!

On May 14th, the extension of Domaine de Verchant Hôtel & Spa 5* Relais & Châteaux was officially opened, and we are proud to have contributed to this beautiful and technically demanding architectural solution.

Bellapart designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed the fully glazed entrance cube that now welcomes guests into the new spaces.
