𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Meltio expands its certified U.S. defense ecosystem. 🇺🇸⚙️

To meet the demands of the U.S. defense sector, advanced technology must be backed by strict regulatory compliance. We are proud to strengthen Meltio’s presence in the U.S. through a network of certified industrial and defense partners.

Together with Force Automation, Snowbird Technologies, Phillips Corporation, and Fastech LLC, our Wire Laser Directed Energy Deposition (DED) ecosystem now operates under recognized U.S. frameworks, including 𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟗𝟎𝟎𝟏:𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐌𝐌𝐂 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝟏 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬.

✅ Secure deployment within U.S. defense supply chains while reducing dependence on offshore suppliers.
✅ Quality and cybersecurity standards for naval manufacturing, armored vehicle maintenance, and deployable units.
✅ Proven tactical agility, with production lead times for critical components reduced by more than 80%.

This milestone reinforces Meltio as a trusted solution for mission critical environments, enabling safer production of titanium, Inconel, and copper parts directly at the point of need.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝? Military logistics can no longer rely on waiting weeks for a replacement part.

Extended supply chains and legacy component obsolescence create acute vulnerabilities for forward operating bases. The current operational tempo demands immediate material solutions.

By integrating Wire Laser Metal Deposition into mobile and containerized environments, military logistics shift from a predictive inventory model to an active production model. This is not a theoretical concept. The hardware is actively deployed at the operational edge.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚:

The technology allows forces to manufacture complete parts directly in the field, eliminating the reliance on extended global supply networks, compressing lead times by 60-80%.
Forces can execute part repairs for 40 to 50 euros instead of purchasing new components that are an order of magnitude more expensive, achieving a 90 percent cost reduction.
Systems successfully process rugged materials natively, including various steels and aluminum grades.
The US Navy, the French Navy, the Spanish Army, and the South Korean Army, among others, are already working with Meltio systems to secure their supply chains.

Achieving a 42% cost reduction and 90% faster lead times means leaving legacy subtractive mindsets behind. You must design strictly for Additive Manufacturing.

In Part 2 of this breakdown, we detail the redesign process to demonstrate how a non-planar strategy is possible on the 3-axis Meltio M600, manufacturing this complex ExxonMobil part.
🔹 How we manipulated external features to engineer out the need for internal supports.
🔹 The exact CAD parameterization required to match a strict 1.5 mm wire bead width.
🔹 A custom 316L fixturing strategy.

Check out part three to see how we mastered the thermal reality.

Traditional subtractive manufacturing has a strict ceiling, especially when sourcing complex, low-volume Titanium parts. For ExxonMobil Louisiana, relying on legacy supply chains meant waiting up to a month and a half for a replacement.

By bringing production in-house with Meltio’s LMD technology, they didn't just solve a supply chain bottleneck. This is how it impacted:

📉 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝟗𝟎%: From 4-6 weeks to 59 hours.
💰 A direct 𝟒𝟐% cost reduction per assembly.

By redesigning the component from the ground up for Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) on the Meltio M600, they overcame the limitations of subtractive manufacturing.

The result is a resilient, leak-proof barrier built for the harshest industrial environments.

A week of technical training in Italy is only successful if it results in production-ready parts.

Working with Overmach and Wire Trading, we integrated our wire-laser DED technology into Cavaletto’s facilities. 🦾

Led by Manuel Calvache, our applications engineer, the training moved quickly from system calibration to the manufacture of functional components. ⚙️

These are not test prints; they are parts destined for Cavaletto’s actual production line. 🏭

This is how wire-laser metal 3D printing integrates into a high-precision manufacturing workflow. ⚡
