A closer look at this outdoor shower project 🚿

For outdoor shower areas, drainage is an important part of the design. Water needs to be managed efficiently rather than simply sitting on the surface or being directed straight into conventional drainage.

Our SUDs-friendly solution helps manage surface water at source, allowing it to drain through the appropriate drainage system beneath the surface and into the ground or designated drainage system, depending on the site design.

The result? A practical outdoor shower area that combines effective water management with a clean, contemporary finish.

A LOOK BACK AT OUR LATEST PROJECTS

Over the past few months, we've had the opportunity to work across a variety of projects, each with its own requirements, materials and challenges.

From residential entrances and steps to larger outdoor areas and specialist surfacing systems, every installation requires careful preparation, the right materials and a considered approach to achieve the desired finish.

We're proud to see these projects come together and, most importantly, to continue expanding our experience across different types of surfacing.

For this one, we’re working with a rubber-based surfacing system, a completely different material from our usual Resin Bound installations.

This installation focuses on transforming the entrance and steps, carefully adapting the Resin Bound to the existing architecture and different levels.

From preparation to the final trowelled finish, every section is shaped to follow the existing structure and create a clean, cohesive result.

✨ A 2-day transformation in Mijas Pueblo

This 25 m² project started with an existing tiled surface and was transformed using our Lake Tahoe Blend.

The installation included:

▫️ 90-degree profile trim to define the edges
▫️ Primer applied to the existing tiled surface
▫️ Structural fibre mesh for reinforcement
▫️ Lake Tahoe Blend Resin Bound, installed at 15mm depth
▫️ Anti-slip crushed glass applied to the surface
▫️ Existing steps finished in Resin Bound, including the upstands

The result is a fresh, hard-wearing finish that brings the whole outdoor area together while giving the space a completely new look. ✨
