We’re proud to share that the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Plant, operated and maintained by ACCIONA, has achieved its highest production levels in more than a decade following a major modernization project.

The comprehensive upgrade included:
• Rebuilding 5 of 8 reverse osmosis racks in stainless steel for a 25+ year lifespan
• Replacing 840 pressure vessels and upgrading key piping systems
• Introducing advanced digital controls to optimize performance and maintenance

These improvements have restored the plant’s full operating capacity and strengthened its contribution to Tampa Bay’s long-term water security.

In recognition of this success, Tampa Bay Water extended ACCIONA’s operation and maintenance contract for an additional five years, through 2029.

ACCIONA together with its partnersunder the Trillium Rail Partners Consortium, has been awarded the contract to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Stations, Rail and Systems by in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). This mega project will add 9.2 km of light rail and 7 new stations (including 4 underground), strengthening connections between Toronto and Mississauga. Beyond construction, the consortium will also integrate advanced signaling, communications and control systems. Once complete, the extension will reduce 6.5 million car trips annually, avoid 5,800 tonnes of emissions each year while providing faster, cleaner and more connected journeys for riders. ACCIONA has been delivering transformative infrastructure in Canada since 2001, this milestone marks another step towards our commitment to shaping sustainable cities and communities.
