🏠 Las tejas son parte de la identidad de la arquitectura mallorquina.

La teja árabe mallorquina, una variante de la teja curva de barro cocido, ha cubierto casas de la isla durante siglos. Su forma permite evacuar bien el agua de lluvia y crear cubiertas resistentes y duraderas.

Tradicionalmente se cuecen en hornos morunos, lo que hace que cada pieza tenga ligeras variaciones de color. Por eso, en muchos tejados de Mallorca no hay dos tejas exactamente iguales. 🧱

The Mallorcan Arab roof tile, a variation of the traditional curved clay tile, has covered houses on the island for centuries. Its shape helps drain rainwater efficiently and creates strong, durable roofs.

Traditionally they are fired in Moorish kilns, which creates slight variations in colour in every piece. That’s why many roofs in Mallorca have tiles that are all slightly different. 🧱

La obra avanza paso a paso en Colònia de Sant Pere. 👷‍♂️

En estas últimas semanas hemos completado la impermeabilización de la cubierta, tratado las juntas de la tabiquería, ejecutado las escaleras y empezado con los foseados y cordoneros. También hemos instalado los marcos metálicos que quedarán integrados en el pladur.

Over the past weeks we have completed the roof waterproofing, treated the drywall joints, built the stairs and started the ceiling recesses and channels. We have also installed the metal frames that will be integrated into the plasterboard walls.

Hoy tocaba cerrar lo que abrimos hace unos días.👷🏻‍♂️ Después de colocar los tubos, toca cubrir con cuidado, retirar las piedras más grandes, rellenar en capas y compactar hasta dejar el terreno en su rasante, como si no hubiera pasado nada. 🚜
