Los extintores de polvo ABC constituyen uno de los medios de primera intervención más utilizados frente a incendios de clase A, B y C. Sin embargo, para garantizar su eficacia es fundamental realizar las revisiones y operaciones de mantenimiento correspondientes.

🔥 Ensayo de extinción de fuego 27A con espuma

El fuego de clasificación 27A corresponde a un incendio de Clase A, generado sobre una pila normalizada de madera conforme a la normativa aplicable. La extinción mediante espuma se realiza aplicando el agente extintor de forma continua y uniforme, comenzando por la base del fuego y cubriendo progresivamente toda la superficie del combustible.

La espuma actúa enfriando el material combustible y formando una capa que limita el aporte de oxígeno, lo que evita la reignición. La aplicación debe mantenerse hasta asegurar la completa extinción y el enfriamiento de los rescoldos.

Un extintor con eficacia 27A ha demostrado, en los ensayos de homologación, ser capaz de extinguir un fuego normalizado de esa magnitud, siempre que se utilice conforme a las instrucciones del fabricante y a las condiciones del ensayo establecidas en la norma UNE-EN 3.

🔥 27A Fire Extinguishing Test with Foam

A 27A fire is classified as a Class A fire, occurring on a standardized wood pile according to applicable regulations. Extinguishing with foam involves applying the extinguishing agent continuously and uniformly, starting at the base of the fire and progressively covering the entire surface of the fuel.

The foam works by cooling the combustible material and forming a layer that limits the oxygen supply, preventing reignition. Application should continue until complete extinguishment and cooling of the embers are ensured.

A 27A rated extinguisher has demonstrated, in certification tests, its ability to extinguish a standardized fire of this magnitude, provided it is used according to the manufacturer's instructions and the test conditions established in the UNE-EN 3 standard.
