Vc Metalwork (formerly Vc The Yacht Service) was established in 2008 by Vicente Libertini to meet the increasing demands of Palma's super yacht industry. Here at Vc Metalwork we understand the yachting industry better than any of our competitors as we have a yacht captain in our management team. We provide our clients with the highest quality welding, fabrication and metalwork facilities on the island and possibly in Spain. Our highly experienced workforce has the ability and knowledge to undertake projects of any scale completing them on time and within budget. When you’re fabricating something for a yacht interior like this, it has to work mechanically and look as though it was always part of the original design.

These custom stainless steel grab rails were made specifically for this jacuzzi bath, and there was no room for error. The bends, mounting points and alignment all had to be exact, particularly when fitting into finished stonework where even a small discrepancy would be immediately obvious.

Once fabricated, everything was polished to a mirror finish before installation.

A very clean result and exactly how custom fabrication should look when it’s finished: like it was always meant to be there.

The devils in the detail: There is virtually no margin for error. The fitting has to match the existing assembly precisely so that everything aligns and the ladder mechanism operates correctly. Even a quarter of a millimetre out can mean the component simply won’t function.

Fabricating a custom bolt fitting from scratch for a superyacht swim ladder: Starting with raw material, the fitting is machined to the required dimensions before being carefully hand finished, with skill needed at every stage to achieve the final fit.

A nice change from fabricating parts that disappear into the engineering of a yacht 😃.

For this year’s MultihullCup Regatta at Port Adriano, we fabricated the metalwork for the commemorative trophies presented to the yachts taking part.

The yacht profile design may look simple, but producing them cleanly in metal takes accurate cutting and careful finishing. The geometry, fine sections and consistency of each piece all had to be right, particularly when the finished work was going to be handed to owners and skippers competing at this level.

We were very pleased to have VC Metalwork’s precision metalwork form part of the trophies for such a prestigious event.

No prefabricated sections. Every piece of pipework is measured, formed, welded and checked for an exact fit in our own facilities, using marine-grade metals including 316L stainless steel and copper-nickel.

There is a lot more behind bespoke yacht metalwork than the finished component suggests.

This custom stainless steel rail extension system was built around the yacht itself. The geometry, existing structure, fixing points and the way the rail needed to operate all had to be considered before fabrication could begin. The individual components were then manufactured, polished and assembled before being taken onboard for fitting and final alignment.

That is the reality of creating bespoke solutions for yachts. You are rarely working with a standard size, shape or installation. The metalwork has to be engineered to fit the yacht, function properly and look as though it has always belonged there.
