What a fantastic day at the Houston Dental Education Institute! Our Digital Workflow on All-on-X course wrapped up and it was every bit as hands-on as we hoped. Attendees got to watch Dr. Giancarlo Romero perform a full rehabilitation live, right there inside the clinical booth — photogrammetry capture, prosthesis design, 3D printing, and final placement, start to finish.

The program covered the whole picture: FP1 and FP3 considerations, PIC system workflow, lab communication, extraction sequencing, and the role of 3D printing in everyday practice. Eight hours, no filler.

Exciting news from the world of dental research! 🦷

A new clinical study published in the International Dental Journal (Martínez-Marugán et al., 2026) has compared 6 different impression techniques for full-arch implant cases — and PIC dental came out as the clear winner. 🏆

What the researchers found:

✔ PIC dental was the most precise technique of all 6 methods tested
✔ 96.8% of PIC system measurements met the clinical precision threshold (vs. 55–73% for the others)
✔ PIC system's mean error consistently and predictably stayed below the critical biomechanical threshold
✔ PIC system maintained excellent metric accuracy in both jaws
✔ The precision of PIC system does not decrease with distance between implants, unlike intraoral scanners

What makes this study different? It was conducted in vivo — a rarity in a field flooded with in vitro research on idyllic typodonts with just 4–6 implants and zero biological factors. And it benchmarks IOS and photogrammetry against nearly all the conventional techniques still seen as the gold standard.
