Hyperloop UPV es un equipo de estudiantes de la Universitat Politècnica de València con la misión de diseñar un prototipo funcional de Hyperloop que permita hacer realidad el transporte del futuro. ulsión en la SpaceX Hyperloop Design Weekend en Texas en enero de 2016, ante un un jurado formado por expertos de Tesla y SpaceX. La propuesta que presentó Hyperloop UPV poseía un alto valor añadido respecto a los demás, siendo el único con levitación superior, que permitiría una decisiva reducción de costes en infraestructuras. En agosto de 2017 resultó entre los 10 mejores equipos en la Hyperloop Pod Competition II, competición en la que sólo 25 equipos de todo el mundo lograron clasificarse. Actualmente, el equipo está compuesto por 40 estudiantes brillantes y motivados, contando también con varios profesores advisors implicados y colaboradores de diversos ámbitos. Con vistas a la SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition III, el equipo Hyperloop UPV ya está trabajando en un prototipo funcional para demostrar su disruptivo diseño y competir en California durante el verano de 2018 con el objetivo de resultar ganadores.

Hyperloop UPV is a student team from the Universitat Politécnica de València (UPV) with the aim of constructing a functional prototype of a complete Hyperloop system and to bring the transportation of the future closer to reality. Hyperloop UPV started in October 2015. Five students from UPV decided to participate in the Hyperloop Design Weekend Competition organised by SpaceX in Texas in January 2016. In this competition a jury composed of Tesla and SpaceX experts awarded Hyperloop UPV the Best Overall Concept Design and Best Propulsion System. The design that Hyperloop UPV proposed was the only one which was able to levitate by attraction to the top of the tube, which meant significantly lowering the infrastructure costs. In August 2017, the UPV team was ranked among the top 10 ‘pods’ against more than 300 other universities in the Hyperloop Pod Competition II in Los Angeles, California. This year’s team is composed of 40 brilliant and highly motivated students helped out by professors from many departments who act as advisors. SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition III will be held in summer 2018 and the team is working hard in designing and constructing a new functional prototype. This new prototype uses a disruptive design which the team hopes will ensure they win the competition when they return to California.
