VALENCIA: THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

🌍 Four events down, one to go. The 2026 season started in Puerto Portals, Mallorca, before heading to Porto Cervo, Sardinia, and then Lanzarote for events at Marina Rubicón and Puerto Calero. Sled won the first two events, Paprec won in Marina Rubicón, and our own Platoon Aviation took the Puerto Calero Royal Cup.

Platoon arrives in Valencia leading the season standings, 11 points ahead of Sled.

And Alkedo Cetilar & Trinity in the top 5

🏆 The season title will be decided here at the 52 SUPER SERIES Valencia Sailing Week. Racing runs from 6 to 10 October off Pinedo Beach, with the teams based at Marina de València. With 16 boats from 11 countries, it’s the biggest fleet the circuit has ever seen.

📍 Come down to the free Fan Zone at Veles e Vents, open until Saturday, 10 October. You can watch the racing on the big screen with Spanish commentary, grab something from the food trucks and see the boats and teams up close. If you can’t make it to Valencia, follow the racing live on the 52 SUPER SERIES website or YouTube channel, with commentary in English and Spanish.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗼.

Provezza and Platoon Aviation are tied at the top after a second day shaped by shifting breeze, major wind shifts and constant place changes across the fleet.

The leaderboard reflects the narrow margins of TP52 racing: Provezza and Platoon are level on 15 points, with Vāyu only two points behind after four races. The 2026 title race is tightening too. Sled remains at the top of the overall standings, but Platoon Aviation has cut the gap to just two points.

More unstable conditions are expected tomorrow before Lanzarote’s stronger trade winds are forecast to arrive on Friday.

Andrea Lacorte’s Alkedo Vitamina stayed near the front all week and finished just one point off the lead heading into the final race. A costly early start cost them the win, but they clawed back to a 2nd overall finish. “The boat is fast, the crew is fantastic, and we are pushing hard,” said Lacorte.

With Joakim Sundberg on the helm and Ed Baird calling tactics, the young team added another race win to their season tally on the windiest day of the whole week, gusts over 30 knots. “It’s the first time this group has ever sailed these boats in this much wind, and I’m enjoying it,” said Baird.
