We are Gen Z
Who are Gen Z?
Gen Z, or Generation Z, refers to the cohort of people born roughly between the mid-1990s and the early 2010s, following Millennials (Generation Y). This generation has grown up in the age of widespread internet access, smartphones, and social media, making them highly digitally savvy. Key characteristics often attributed to Gen Z include:

1. Tech-Native: They've been exposed to technology and the internet from a very young age.

2. Diverse and Inclusive: They tend to value diversity and inclusivity, pushing for more representation in media, business, and culture.

3. Entrepreneurial: Many in this generation seek independent, entrepreneurial career paths, including side hustles and freelance work.

4. Socially Conscious: Gen Z often focuses on issues like climate change, mental health, and social justice.

5. Communication Preferences: They favor platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat, and are less inclined to use traditional media.

They're also known for their adaptability and resilience, having navigated growing up in a fast-paced, constantly changing world.

Effective reading methods for exam success.

Preparing for exams can be a challenging task, but employing the right reading methods can significantly improve your chances of success. Here are some of the best reading techniques to help you excel in your school exams:

Skim and Scan: Begin by skimming through the material to get an overview of the content. Focus on headings, subheadings, and keywords. Then, scan for specific information you need, which saves time and helps in retaining key points.

Active Reading: Engage with the text by highlighting or underlining important points, making notes in the margins, and asking questions about the material. This not only helps you absorb information but also makes it easier to revise later.

SQ3R Method: Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review. Start by surveying the chapter or section, then formulate questions based on headings and subheadings. Read the material, recite answers to your questions, and finally, review your notes and highlighted portions.

Chunking: Break down larger sections of text into smaller chunks. Read each chunk thoroughly, and then summarize its main points before moving on to the next. This method aids comprehension and memory retention.

Mind Mapping: Create visual representations of the material using mind maps. This technique helps you see the connections between concepts and aids in recalling information during the exam.

Active Recall: After reading a section, put the material aside and try to recall the main points. This practice enhances your memory and reinforces understanding.

Teach Someone: Explain the material to a friend or family member as if you were teaching it to them. Teaching reinforces your own understanding and highlights areas where you might need further study.

Use Technology Wisely: Leverage digital tools such as apps, e-books, or online flashcards to enhance your reading experience. These resources can make studying more interactive and engaging.
