People of our country, especially YouTubers and TikTokers: Are we supporting Iran or Israel because we truly know about them, or are we supporting them without really understanding?
There are a few things Ethiopians should understand about Iran and Israel:
1. Iran is not an Arab country; most of its people are Persians.
2. Israel is not a Christian nation; most of its people are Jews.
3. The Jewish people do not follow Christianity; their religion is Judaism.
4. In Israel there are Christians and Muslims as well, though they are minorities, and Muslims are more numerous than Christians there.
5. Iran has more Christian followers than Israel.
6. More Arabs live in Israel than in Iran.
7. Preaching Christianity is easier in the United Kingdom than in Israel.
8. Most Iranians speak Persian (Farsi), and only a small number speak Arabic.
Iran is a leading Shi’a Muslim country, and it often disagrees with Sunni Islamic teachings led by Saudi Arabia.
If the reason you support Israel is only because you heard about it in the Bible or think it is a Christian country…
Or if the reason you support Iran is only because you think it is an Arab country or because it has a Muslim majority…
Then your support is not based on who is right or wrong, who broke international law, or who respects justice and human rights.
Instead, it is based only on religious emotion.
Whether you support Israel or Iran, including myself, if our position is based not on justice and humanity but only on religious bias, then we have closed the door to humanity.
We should stand for truth, justice, and human dignity.
We must understand and distinguish who respects human life and identity and who does not.
In general, we post many opinions like this about issues in our country as well. But how many of us analyze and think deeply about what we say instead of just applauding?
Do we realize that our words carry weight?
Thinking carefully about what we say is a responsibility and a sign of maturity.
Especially for people who are in the public eye—many people watch what you write or post. Your posts should be made thoughtfully, not emotionally.
If such issues are not understood well, they can even ignite conflict in our own country.
Understand this example:

1. ኢራን የአረብ አገር አይደለችም፤ ብዙዎቹ ሰዎቿ ፐርስያውያን ናቸው።
2. እስራኤል የክርስቲያኖች ሕዝብ አይደለችም፤ ብዙዎቹ የአይሁድ (Jewish) ሰዎች ናቸው።
3. እነዚህ የአይሁድ ሰዎች የሚከተሉት ሀይማኖት ክርስቲያንነት ሳይሆን የይሁድ ሀይማኖት (Judaism) ነው።
4. በእስራኤል ውስጥ ክርስቲያኖችና ሙስሊሞች አሉ፤ ቢሆንም በቁጥር ሙስሊሞች ከክርስቲያኖች ይበልጣሉ።
5. ኢራን በክርስቲያን ተከታዮች ቁጥር ከእስራኤል ትበልጣለች።
6. አረቦች በኢራን ከሚገኙት ይልቅ በእስራኤል ውስጥ ብዙ ይገኛሉ።
7. ክርስቲያንነትን መስበክ ከእስራኤል ይልቅ በዩናይትድ ኪንግደም ውስጥ ቀላል ነው።
8. የኢራን ሰዎች የሚናገሩት ቋንቋ ፋርሲ (Persian) ነው፤ የአረብኛ ቋንቋ የሚናገሩ ግን ጥቂቶች ብቻ ናቸው።
ኢራን የሺዓ ሙስሊሞች ዋና አገር ሲሆን ብዙ ጊዜ ከሳውዲ አረቢያ የሚመራው የሱኒ እስልምና ትምህርት ጋር ይቃረናል።
እስራኤልን የምትደግፉት ምክንያት በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ የሰማችሁት ብቻ ከሆነ፣ ወይም የክርስቲያኖች አገር ነች ብላችሁ ከሆነ…!
ኢራንን የምትደግፉት ደግሞ የአረብ አገር ናት ብላችሁ በመስማታችሁ ወይም ብዙዎቹ ሙስሊሞች ስለሆኑ ብቻ ከሆነ…!
እንግዲህ ድጋፋችሁ ማን ትክክል ነው ወይም ማን ስህተት አድርጎአል በማለት፣ ማን የአለም ህግ ጣሰ ወይም ማን ለፍትሕና ለሰብአዊነት ክብር አለው ብሎ የተመሠረተ አይደለም፤ በሀይማኖታዊ ስሜት ብቻ የተመሠረተ ነው።
እስራኤልን የምትደግፉም ሆነ ኢራንን የምትደግፉ ሁላችንም ፍትሕንና ሰብአዊነትን ሳንመስርት በሀይማኖት ወገንተኝነት ብቻ ከተያዝን የሰብአዊነት በር በእጃችን እንዘጋዋለን።
እውነትን፣ ፍትሕንና የሰውነት ክብርን እንጠብቅ። ለሰው ልጅ ክብር የሌለውን እና ለማንነት ክብር የሌለውን ማን እንደሆነ ለይተን ማወቅ አለብን።
በአጠቃላይ እንደዚህ ያሉ ጉዳዮች ስለ አገራችንም ብዙ ጊዜ እንለጥፋለን፤ ግን ከእኛ መካከል ስንቶቻችን እጅ ብቻ ሳንጨብጭብ ነገሩን በጥልቀት እንመርመራለን? የምንናገረው ቃል ክብደት እንዳለው እናውቃለን?
የምንናገረውን ነገር መመርመር ግዴታ ነው፤ ይህም የብስለት ምልክት ነው። በተለይም የህዝብ አይን በላያችሁ ያለባችሁ ሰዎች የምትጽፉትን ወይም የምትለጥፉትን ነገር በስሜት ሳይሆን በማስተዋል ማድረግ አለባችሁ።
እንዲህ ያሉ ጉዳዮች ሳይታሰቡ በአገራችንም እሳት ሊነሳ ይችላል።
እንዲህ ይባላል፦
“አንዱ ሰው ዘፈኑን በክላሲካል ቅጥ ደስ ብሎት ይወዳል፤
ሌላው በዘፋኙ ድምፅ ይደሰታል፤
ሌላው በመልዕክቱ ይደሰታል፤
ሌላው ደግሞ ድምፁን ብቻ ሰምቶ ይዝላል።”
ለንግድ ሲሉ የሚያስቀምጡ ሰዎች ዓላማቸው አለ። እኛ ግን በስሜት ከመናገር ይልቅ የምንዘራው መልዕክት እንደ ዘር እንዳይሆን ሳይበቅል እንመዝነው። የሚመለከተንን እና ብንተወው ጉዳት የሌለውን በመለየት ብንናገር ይሻላል።
ይህን የምናገረው ካነበብኩትና ካሰብኩት በኋላ ነው።
አዎ፣ እንስማና እንናገር፤ በምላሳችንና በብዕራችን የምንዘራው ዘር በቅሎ ሕይወት እንደሚፈጥር ታውቃላችሁ?
