MPS systems are transforming in vitro organ modelling. At ARVO 2025, our collaborator Experimentica presented our joint research highlighting the power of merging their preclinical expertise with the AKITA microfluidic platform. This collaboration enabled the rapid development of a cornea-on-chip model that matures quickly and is fully compatible with automation—a critical step toward building more complex and predictive in vitro corneal models.

Nikon has shown growing interest in next-generation in vitro systems, and we were honored to be invited to present the results of our collaboration at Nikon’s MPS hands-on seminar. We showcased the ability for high-resolution imaging in the AKITA Plate using Nikon confocal microscopes.

While our presentation was in English (still brushing up on our Japanese! 😅), a huge thank you to our local distributor 東京未来スタイル / Tokyo Future Style,Inc. for their invaluable support in managing the many audience questions and helping with the hands-on session!

Bioinks for vascular modeling!

We combined tight vascular barriers with 3D cell culture in a scalable manner. Glue4Life's customizable and biodegradable bioink was applied on the AKITA microfluidic plate to study vascular network formation. The endothelial sprouting could be further combined with tissues and organoids for drug compound testing and bioink testing in a medium & high-throughput formats.
