Change can be exciting – and a little challenging. Last year, Matts Slotte took on a brand-new role at Rikta when our longtime salesperson, Kari, retired. After starting at Rikta in 2011 in production and moving into production planning, Matts decided to take the leap into sales.
"It’s fun to try something new. I really enjoy customer contact and solving problems. Every day is different, and no two customers are the same," says Matts.
His approach is simple but effective: listen carefully, understand the customer’s needs, and always be honest and transparent.
"Finding the right solution for a customer is a collaboration. Sometimes they know exactly what they need, sometimes we help them figure it out. Either way, it’s about getting it right together."
It’s not just about the numbers for Matts – building relationships matters most. He thrives on long-term connections and seeing the impact of his work reflected in satisfied customers.
Outside the office, Matts has another passion: fishing. His cottage in Öja’s outer archipelago is where he leaves all stress behind.
"All stress just disappears when I step from the dock into the boat" he says. After a busy season of sales meetings and customer visits, Matts is now looking forward to spring and summer, not just for work but to finally enjoy the water, the sun, and a quiet bit of fishing.
