The application of protective nanocoating in the microelectronic industries is growing rapidly due to the ability to tailor the protective layer by selecting and combining various materials and making the layer as thin as a few nanometers whereas the conventional coatings are too thick, too porous and too bulky for miniaturized devices.
Further advantage of protective nanocoatings are good protection against threats, including rain, sweat, submersion, pollution, antibacterial, UV resistance, transparent, lightweight, chemical-corrosion resistance, good thermal and electric properties. To adopt this technology, some measures need to be taken to encourage its capable growth for example, addressing public perception, mitigate environmental risks with using non-toxic, non VOC chemicals, adaptation of REACH, RoHS, PFOA/PFOS-free and CA Prop 65 compliance etc.
Optitune Oy also working with nano-engineered coatings which are designed to improve the durability, optical qualities and the sustainability of glass, plastic, metal surfaces as well as nano electronics.

By 2025, it is estimated that the global market value for nanocoatings will climb to $17.2 billion, an all-time high. This market is all-encompassing, offering diverse applications, including anti-fouling, fingerprint resistance, water repellency for clothing, and even bacteria growth prevention to....
