Our ’s latest work highlights the development of compact, energy-efficient VCSELs operating at the key rubidium wavelengths (780 nm and 795 nm), enabling applications such as v***r cell magnetometers, atomic clocks, and next-generation navigation systems.

By combining precise epitaxial design with advanced wafer-level manufacturing, we achieve single-mode operation, controlled polarization, and optimized linewidth, which are critical parameters for high-performance quantum sensors.

🔬 Modulight Spotlights: LASER-SHARP RESEARCH – May 2026

This month’s research spotlight goes to Nimit Shah and the team from Dr. Girgis Obaid’s Lab for Molecular Imaging and Optical Nanotherapeutics at The University of Texas at Dallas for their promising work in pancreatic cancer therapy, an area where more effective treatments are urgently needed.

The team developed light-activated, verteporfin-containing liposomes and enhanced them with SM-102 lipid technology, widely known from mRNA vaccine delivery systems. When activated using Modulight’s ML6600 laser platform, the modified liposomes boosted immunological cancer cell death by up to 8-fold, resulting in significantly improved treatment efficacy.

Research like this highlights the growing potential of photodynamic therapies and precision laser technologies in tackling some of the most difficult cancers.
