FUNCTIONAL DRUG RESPONSE ASSESSMENT FOR PRECISION MEDICINE IN ONCOLOGY

Misvik Biology is a Finnish biotech company developing advanced diagnostic technologies for precision oncology and targeted therapies for rare cancers by ex vivo assessment of therapy efficacy using patient derived tumor and immune cells. The Company is driving clinical development of the TRIALTEST™ multiomics diagnostic test

that predicts drug responses integrating knowledge of molecular pathology, single cell analyses and machine learning driven computational biology. NANOTOXICOLOGY RESEARCH

Misvik is also invested in the development of safety governance of Engineered NanoMaterials In Europe as part of several European research initiatives and the EU NanoSafety Cluster.

HER2 has been shown to be expressed in up to 50% of ductal salivary gland cancers and up to 25% of all salivary gland cancers. Targeted therapies are available and they work. Yet, the national treatment guidelines in Finland and many other countries still rely solely on the unspecific cytotoxic drugs and do not consider HER2 as a therapy target in these cancers. Based on accumulating evidence, these patients should be treated based on the molecular characteristics of the tumors. Interested in tailor made peptidyl diphenyl phosphonate warheads for analysis of proteolytic networks? Check out our latest collaborative study published in Nature Chemical Biology revealing the proteolytic regulatory network of CDCP1, a potent therapeutic target across multiple human cancers. Read the full article from here:

A substrate-biased activity-based probe technology was developed to enable relatively facile identification of proteases responsible for specific proteolytic events in complex biological milieu, revealing that urokinase regulates CDCP1 proteolysis.

For rare cancers, n-of-1 style studies may be the only approach to demonstrate novel treatment options. In our latest study published today at Neoplasia we use multiomics methods for ex vivo modelling of drug efficacy and personalized treatment in an extreme rare epithelial-myoepithelial salivary gland cancer.
