OAMK hyödyntää laitteistoa muun muassa EU:n osarahoittamassa EKOENERGIA-hankkeessa. Kuvassa Joni Kosamo sekä Tiina Mattila OAMK:sta.

Oulu University of Applied Sciences has expanded its gas measurement capabilities with a new Gasmet measurement system combining both the hot GT6000 Mobilis and cold GT5000 Terra analyzers. Together, these two instruments enable highly versatile measurements and unknown gas identification across a wide range of applications from environmental research and occupational safety to emissions monitoring. OAMK is using the system in research work, including the EU co-funded EKOENERGIA project. In the picture Joni Kosamo and Tiina Mattila from OAMK.

First day done at AIHA Connect 2026 in New Orleans 👋
It’s great to be back among industrial hygienists and OEHS professionals, sharing ideas on how to improve exposure monitoring and protect worker health. With us we have our trusted yellow box, the GT5000 Terra, FTIR analyzer for industrial hygienists who need reliable data without slowing down their workflow.

With GT5000 Terra, you can:
• measure multiple gases simultaneously with one device
• get lab-quality results directly in the field
• reduce the need for sample collection and follow-up analysis
• make faster, more informed decisions on site

For many IH applications, that means fewer uncertainties and better visibility into what’s actually happening in the breathing zone, when it matters most. If you’re attending AIHA, stop by our booth and see how it works in practice. Our Application Chemist Veikko Halkosaari and Sales Manager Steve Ochs are always happy to talk through real use cases and challenges.

In most discussions about gas analysis, the focus is on what the analyzer can measure. In fixed measurement systems, the more pressing question is often different: how does the analyzer fit into everything else running alongside it?

When gas analysis is a permanent component of a broader setup, it runs on the system's terms: continuously, alongside other instruments, feeding results directly into process control or compliance reporting. That puts a specific demand on the analyzer to stay reliable when conditions are not.

We wrote about what this looks like in practice across emissions monitoring, process gas analysis, and carbon capture, and why FTIR-based analysis suits this kind of setup particularly well.👉 https://hubs.li/Q04jlm6j0

35 years of Gasmet FTIR expertise, perfected for fixed measurement systems. Introducing GT7000 Tellus.

When a gas analyzer is part of a fixed measurement system, it has to work on the system's terms: continuously, alongside other instruments, under varying conditions.

GT7000 Tellus is built for exactly that. Rack-mountable, continuously running, measuring up to 50 gases simultaneously and backed by decades of in-house FTIR development and application expertise. It's the third member of a product family that now covers field measurements, portable campaigns, and fixed system integration. The same FTIR technology, adapted for where the work happens.

We expected materials, manufacturing and logistics to dominate the GT5000 Terra’s carbon footprint.

The results told a more nuanced story.

While calculating the footprint, we quickly realized how much sustainability work depends on having the right data, strong collaboration across teams, and a clear understanding of where emissions actually originate.

In this short behind-the-scenes video, our QE Manager Ulla Kosonen shares some of the key lessons from the process and how the project is now helping us improve future environmental reporting as well.

São Paulo, we are ready! 🇧🇷 You’ll find us at the 10th International Symposium on Soil Organic Matter (SOM 2026) at the University of São Paulo, together with our partner Birtech.

It’s shaping up to be a great few days of discussions around soil processes, carbon cycles, and environmental research and we’re excited to be part of it. We’ll be there talking FTIR, real-time gas measurements, and how detailed gas data can support everything from soil studies to broader atmospheric research.

If you’re attending, stop by and say hi to our specialist Alejandra Cabrera 👋 Always good to connect face-to-face, exchange ideas, and hear what others are working on. We'll be here until Thursday.

Missed last week’s webinar on chamber measurement accuracy? You can now watch it on demand.

In this session, we look at what actually shapes measurement quality in the field, from calibration and validation to chamber design and environmental conditions. The discussion also includes a real agricultural measurement case with Datasense, a Finnish company specializing in field‑based environmental and agricultural measurements, with a particular focus here on N2O.

If you work with chamber measurements and want a clearer way to assess data reliability outside controlled conditions, the full session is now available.

Our APAC partner meeting is underway in Hong Kong, and it's a good one.

Some of the partnerships in this room go back 25 years. That kind of continuity doesn't happen by accident; it takes shared commitment to the work and to the customers these partners serve across the APAC region. Alongside the familiar faces, we have a few new partners joining us this year, which makes for a useful mix of institutional knowledge and fresh perspective.

Grateful for everyone who made the trip.

Last chance to register for the webinar, we go live tomorrow!

In this session, we’ll look at what actually defines measurement quality in chamber work with quest speaker Jari Hakkarainen, CEO of Datasense. Join to learn how calibration, validation, chamber design, and environmental conditions together shape the data you end up trusting.

Tomorrow, Thursday 21st, 11:00 UTC (14:00 EEST)

If you work with chamber measurements and want a clearer framework for evaluating data reliability outside controlled conditions, this session is for you.

👉 Register now, recording will be shared with all registrants: https://hubs.li/Q04hfvJ_0

We’re in France this week 🇫🇷 at the CBRNe Research & Innovation Conference 2026 in Arcachon together with our French distributor, SISTEC.

At the exhibition, we’re showcasing how portable FTIR gas analysis supports rapid and reliable identification of hazardous gases in CBRNe scenarios, both in the field and during incident response.r

You’ll find Product Manager Anna Leino with Paul Mouchot from SISTEC, who you can also spot in the photo, at our booth, ready to discuss current challenges in gas analysis and detection.
