In order to enrich employees' extracurricular cultural life, strengthen team cohesion, and create a positive, competitive working atmosphere, the company will launch the first Employee Football Tournament of 2026 this Saturday (June 13). The tournament will feature 10 teams formed from 17 departments across the mine. The opening ceremony and all matches will be held at Theodore Park (the rugby field opposite the police station), and the entire tournament will span four Saturdays.
We welcome everyone to come and watch the games and cheer for the teams you support!

From 11th May to 18th May 2026, participants from Lion One Metals Limited visited Vatukoula Gold Mines Pte Limited for a collaborative First Aid Rescue Training program. The visit aimed to strengthen workplace safety practices, improve emergency response capabilities, and encourage professional cooperation between the two mining organizations. During the program, participants were welcomed and introduced to the company’s operations through a comprehensive Safety Induction session.

The participants underwent induction training covering the company’s history, policies, procedures, and emergency response systems. The training team, consisting of Mr. Rajeshwar, Mr. Waisale, and Mr. Semi, shared their valuable knowledge and practical experiences in First Aid Rescue Training. The sessions provided an opportunity for participants to learn effective rescue techniques, understand safety responsibilities in mining operations, and exchange ideas and experiences from their respective workplaces. The collaboration also promoted cultural exchange and strengthened professional relationships among the teams.

Throughout the training period, both the facilitators and participants actively contributed to discussions and theoretical learning activities. Participants shared their opinions, workplace experiences, and approaches to emergency preparedness, creating an engaging and informative environment. The theoretical sessions have laid a strong foundation for the upcoming practical training, where participants will further develop their rescue and emergency response skills through hands-on exercises and demonstrations.

On the 4th and 5th May 2026, Vatukoula Gold Mines Limited attended Labour-Management Consultation and Cooperation Committee (LMCC) training involving both employees and management. The training focused on consultation and cooperation between employer and worker representatives at the company level.

The LMCC was explained as a forum where management and employees could share information, discuss workplace matters, and provide views and advice on issues affecting the workforce. The main purpose of the training was to promote good-faith working relationships and improve productivity within the company.

During the training, several important topics were discussed and explained to both employees and management. Committee members were also reminded of their role in attending meetings and representing the interests and concerns of employees.

On 14th April 2026, students and lecturers from the University of the South Pacific visited Vatukoula Gold Mines for an educational tour aimed at enhancing their practical understanding of mining operations and Earth Science.

Upon arrival, the group underwent a comprehensive safety induction. Key points covered included the history of the company, essential safety protocols, and an overview of mining operations. In addition, a geographical induction was conducted to help students better understand rock structures and the processes involved in mine exploration.

During the session, students actively engaged by asking questions related to geological materials and rock formations. These were thoroughly explained by the team, providing valuable insights into rock layering, mining methods, and safety practices in production areas.

The visit also included planned tours of selected mine areas, allowing students to observe and relate their academic knowledge in Earth Science to real-world mining activities. This hands-on experience offered a deeper appreciation of both the scientific and operational aspects of the mining industry.
