Today is World Population Day. This day serves as a reminder of the challenges and opportunities presented by a growing global population.
It took hundreds of thousands of years for the world population to reach 1 billion.
By 2011, the world population hit 7 billion.
It stood at 7.9 billion in 2021.
It’s expected to reach 8.5 billion by 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 10.9 billion by 2100 according to the United Nations.
As our population grows, so does the need for sustainable, nutritious, and efficient food sources.
