What if pain was never just physical? 🤔

On this World Day Against Pain, we’re sharing the testimony of John Howard, acupuncturist and Battlefield Acupuncture trainer in the USA. 🇺🇸

Developed over 25 years ago by Dr. Richard Niemtzow, a US Air Force physician, Battlefield Acupuncture is an auricular protocol that addresses pain in all its dimensions: physical, emotional and psychological, acute or chronic.

In this video, John explains why it has become a key tool in his practice, used with ASP®, our sterile semi-permanent needles for the ear. 👂

🔬 Use case: plantar ulcer in a diabetic patient

In this patient, a forefoot ulcer had persisted for over three years despite regular care. Carine Mursi, physiotherapist in Le Mée-sur-Seine (France), chose to add photobiomodulation to the existing care pathway.

📋 The protocol
🔹 Premio 32 EVO A-G laser, ANTAL and REGEN programmes
🔹 3 sessions a week
🔹 Follow-up over 9 weeks (D+0 to D+61)
🔹 Alongside standard care: offloading footwear, podiatric follow-up, local wound care

✅ Observed progress
At first, a deep ulcer with a fibrinous-necrotic base. Over the weeks: wound bed cleansing, granulation, then epithelialisation, leading to almost complete surface closure at D+61. Long-term follow-up is still needed to confirm complete healing.

🎗️ Breast Cancer Awareness Month: research moves forward, so does acupuncture.

During the 7th ICMART Webinar, Dr. Raman Kapoor spoke about the role of acupuncture in supporting patients through the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
